Just finished watching this, and it brought back some memories.

This one and The Blue Lagoon with Brooke Shields was my "forbidden fruits" when I was young. Too young to see these kinds of movies...

Emmanuelle is by no means a great film, but it has that feel to it that only the French manage to portray. Glad to see it's out on Blu-ray, even though it will be a long time before I watch it again.

EDIT: One more thing; how come the Blu-ray cover for this isn't allowed on this site, but violent and vile covers like Maniac, Man Bites Dog and The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue is? A nude woman isn't harmful or offensive... I hope?

We do have the original covers for all European releases and nothing is censored:

Regardless, I don't think that this is a serious issue at all. Our owners have made it perfectly clear in the past that only graphic sexual images (penetration, etc.,) can not be hosted on our site. This is basically the same practice Amazon.com, as well as its international branches, follows.

If you like movies with beautiful women and scenery; yes. The plot is thin as hell, and mostly an excuse to show naked people.

You should read the review here at blu-ray.com. It will give you a good idea if this is a movie for you or not.

As for the technical aspects of the Blu-ray; it looks beautiful!

Apparently, we had similar childhoods.

I picked up this film for the reason(s) cited, but probably more for nostalgia than anything else.

Cool. Nostalgia is a good a reason as any. And both Brooke Shields and Sylvia Kristel is still pleasing for the eye...

I just had a dream last night that I was in a video store and I saw this blu-ray for sale for 17 bucks used. I picked it up to buy, and after waking up, I was pissed that it was just a dream. I don't even want this blu-ray that much.

Need to pick this up at some point. Quite fond of the Emmanuelle flicks, at least the first three as well as the fourth one with the Swedish Mia Nygren as the "new and improved" Emmanuelle.

Managed to scoop up a Dutch DVD box set featuring Sylvia Kristel and George Lazenby where they are pretty much bookending 7 feature-length Emmanuelle movies that were made in the early 90s. They feature Marcela Wallerstein as the young Emmanuelle and she is really quite nice to look at (both in and out of clothes). I had taped these off of TV broadcasts back then but nice to have a hard copy which in a few cases are slightly longer than the versions I have on tape IIRC.

there are just SOOOO many other UK and European bds that I want right now, it really makes it hard to know which ones to choose to order first.
