Apparently, Jan Kounen is a huge fan of Blu-ray, and he works a lot in the different editions of his movies... Bluberry has a huge failure in France, so I think it's more difficult to convince the producers to make new restoration...

For the subtitles, there is no english subs on the DVD, so I will be surprised if there will be on the future edition...

Kounen promise us a new interview for that Blu-ray (but when ?), we will ask him that day, promise !

Awesome news! Let's hope this release gives the film the treatment it deserves and not butcher it like the Italian release did...

What's the original audio language of the film, and does it has Engish subs? Thoughts on the film itself?

Original audio was English. The film's titles was changed to Renegade for the US theatrical release.

According to this site it will have French and English audio with French subtitles.

Thank you!

Now I guess the real question is...is the film any good? ALthough it looks to be Region B so I guess it doesn't matter because I wouldn't be able to play it anyway

Pretty epic little movie by it's finish. It depicts quite an intense and realistic ayahausca experience, with some great fx work lending to the hallucinogenic visuals.

The story revolves around this cowboy, who was raised as a child by native-American medicine men. As a man, he never forgets them and finds his way back to the natives and back to their secret -- a sacred medicine that delivers knowledge, power, and wisdom, connecting everything and completing the circle of life. Pretty epic little movie. But a cowboy bandit who had a score to settle with our hero is after the medicine, as well.

I actually have this blu-ray (France edition). No english subs at all, none. Atleast the french subs are removeable. One might consider keeping the DVD version only for the subtitles.

Picure quality was OK. Plenty of film grain though but that might originate from the source material. Some darker scenes were not completely black, there was some white vertical "banding" during these sections but that looked like it originated from the actual filming situation rather than being some sort of weird post processing artifact.

Audio was nice, original audio was DTS-HD MA 5.1 and the sure of surround channels was nice during the "tripping" sessions
