it is they feel it isn't worth paying the fees to use the original opening song, so they have that oddball replacement. They stalled on releasing more for a while and then they started back up but they are slower on their releases now. I am sure it sales. I am still waiting on Police Woman season 2 from Sony ... I won't hold my breath. Angie Dickinson Rocks! |

There's a reason why a popular show like The Wonder Years isn't on DVD yet. The costs of licensing all of that music is too expensive. |

Favorite show of all time, I have been collecting the season dvd's and was wondering as well if this would show up on blu-ray. Seeing the posts above seems like it wouldn't be much of an advantage if any at all except for more seasons on less discs.

How about at least releasing them in Anamorphic 4:3 DVD so they are properly pillerboxed/widowboxed on an upconverted DVD player or Blu-Ray player that automatically upconverts?
I don't actually own any of the Married With Children DVD's so if they are properly encoded please forgive me and ignore this post but every "4:3 TV on DVD" title that I do own suffers from the same problem - they are not Anamorphically encoded. When watching them on an upconverting DVD player or Blu-Ray player I need to always toggle to player's resolution to 480p since the 1080p signal is forced into "Stretch Mode" on my TV. I have a few 4:3 Blu-Ray's and those are properly encoded with the side matte bars. A Blu-Ray release, while not upgrading the image would at least ensure it is displayed in the proper aspect ratio. |

My TV does it just fine with 4x3 framed material appearing pillarboxed and 16x9 framed material appearing in the proper dimensions. |

[Show spoiler] No real "finale", but that was the last episode. They just restarted with the new episodes again on TBS, so it'll be awhile before the finale airs again, but it will, just keep an eye out. |

On both of my TV's HDTV & SDTV displays fine - HDTV shows as 1080i and SDTV shows as 480i. It is watching 4:3 upconverted DVD's that is the problem as the signail outputs at 1080p. Both TV's pillerbox 480i and 480p, but stretch all 720p, 1080i and 1080p material regardless of if it is 4:3 or 16:9. UPDATE: On my Sony KDF-E4210A Page 53 of the manual states "When the TV recieves a 720p or 1080i signal NORMAL cannot be selected" Manual here: http://www.fixyourdlp.com/manuals/Sony/kdfe42_50a10.pdf On my Mitsubishi WD-60735 Page 32 of the manual hints at basically the same problem, but I couldn't find anything that specifically mentions the problem or how to fix it. Manual here: http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/pdf/own...s/WD-65735.pdf Last edited by Beaner666; 02-14-2010 at 08:37 AM. Reason: UPDATE |

The Sony Wega has an autoformat feature:
Wega Gate > Settings > Screen > 4:3 Default Set 4:3 Defaul to Normal on all the inputs for your television and you will be find. Yes, I said all the inputs. My Sony LCD is the same way, I have to select each individual input and set this. This is done so that the TV is more flexible for different materials. As for the series finale of Married...: [Show spoiler]
