There will be a 3D Blu-Ray of these titles.

I'm not buying these Blu-Rays until a true 3D version is made available using the Blu-Ray 3D spec.
That's all true, if such things matter to you. Personally I couldn't care less about 3D. I get annoyed enough as it is wearing my regular glasses, I don't need to ruin the experience further with another pair.

3D, it's overrated if you asked me and will not make it. Toy Story 1 & 2 BD first day purcase for me as well.

I won't be one of the ones to double dip on a 3D release. I went to the 3D showing and it wasn't that good, just ok. I'll take my original 2D version and be very happy

Thanks for the Walmart's links !

Can't wait for those Pixar's titles

Plus, they will surely be region free just as Monsters Inc. or A Bug's Life since they're catalog titles !

This is a day 1 purchase for sure! My only issue is do I pre-order from amazon when I can, or do I wait and see if Best Buy will have steelbooks?
Anyone have any guesses if they'll release steelbooks right away or a few months later?

Awesome!! It will be a long wait till the end of March. Not to mention that March is turning out to be an expensive month with Disney titles alone. But its all good. I'll gladly eat mac n cheese and hot dogs for the month while watching Fantasias' and Toy Stories. lol

I might get it at $15 from Amazon but don't think I'd be willing to spend much more. I'm more excited about Disney's upcoming 2D classics than Pixar right now (unless they announce The Incredibles or Finding Nemo.)
you do realize that they completely re-rendered these using the newer tech right? If you saw the latest release in theaters you'd know it looks amazing and will look amazing on blu-ray, way improved from the dvd version let alone crappy YouTube uploads.

I'm probably going to hold off on upgrading these (might bite early if i can get a good price with the likely coupon for the upgrade) until 3 comes out and then buy a box set with all 3. Hopefully they'll let you use the coupons from 1 & 2 towards the box set.

I bet we will see one or the other announced for the Fall with TS3.

Hoping for Nemo.

Of course I realise they would have to re-render them for the higher resolution and for the 3D effect, but did they actually change anything? I mean did they essentially remake them using better textures, filters, lighting, depth of field effects and all that?

I actually think its pretty cool but honestly, I can just wait till there's a collector's set trilogy with those two and "Toy Story 3."

Looking forward to these movies. Knowing Disney, there will probably be a double dip release when Toy Story 3 comes out on BD, may even a Toy Story 3 pack (I'm guessing).

i thought I had read something with more detail in the past about what they did but can't find it. Did find these though

http://www.collider.com/entertainmen.../9315/tcid/1//
very basic info http://www.tweaktown.com/news/10297/...les/index.html

both links actually found from this thread https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=112609

if i find anything with more detail I'll post a link, but I think the short answer is that they did (to use your words 'essentially remake' them using their more advanced software.

Great news. I think some of the topics of those listed featurettes are right out of The Pixar Story. I hope they do new stuff and don't try to cheap out.

as for Nemo
