On a side note, I was considering getting the little Roku box for $80. Does anyone know adv/disadv to the Roku vs. the PS3 with streaming disk?

I just ordered my PS3 disc, so I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I've had my Roku box for a year and a half and love it. The $80 box only has composite connections for HD video you'll need to spring for the $100 box I believe.

The Roku box has the advantage of not having to get off your butt to load a disc.

One other thing I noticed after getting my PS3 is that it is very loud when playing regular dvd's, so I hooked up a regular dvd player. This also allows me to preserve the PS3.

I wonder if that streaming disk will run loud as well.

(Blu's run nice and quiet...one of those things I guess.)

got my discs today picking up my new PS3 on Monday.. will be home Tuesday to test... I have to get cracking as there are about 15-20 movies only availible on DVD in my instant Q that expire Jan. 1 (that means I can still watch them on the first of the year right?

The Roku gives you the additional options for Amazon Video on Demand, Pandora, and more.

The nice thing is that Amazon Video on Demand offers new to video releases for rent and now Disc + On Demand. So when you buy a selected Blu-ray disc from Amazon.com, you also get access to the Amazon Video on Demand version. So while you wait for the disc to arrive, you can enjoy it on your Roku.

There are additional channels available as well and you can check out a list here.

I received my disk last night and messed around with it for a bit and have to say for 9 bucks a month to have one at a time and streaming is a heck of a deal. Are the hundred choices per category all that it has or do you have to add to your watch now list from the pc?

Finally was able to see Hancock last night, good flick and quality was not even that bad in non hd format.
