Noticed some new fottage on IGN today! The trailer says you sue the six axis to control the world, but I still see the butterfly which the loccoroccos follow.

I think they dont mean 'control the world' in the way we are used to, but rather you use the sixais to control branches and platforms, so it easier for the LocoRoco to get where they need to go. Should be very interesting. Cant wait to get my hands on this one.

LocoRoco Cocoreccho! coming to UK PlayStation Store on September 20th for £1.99

Quote:
More LocoRoco goodness is incoming from Sony--this time on to the PlayStation Network. The latest title in the LocoRoco series will be called LocoRoco Cocoreccho in the UK, instead of its Japanese name Oiedeyo LocoRoco! Boo Boo Cocoreccho! The game will be available from September 20 on the PlayStation Network.

The original LocoRoco game, created by Japanese game designer Tsutomu Kouno and producer Kazuhito Miyaki, was first released in Europe in June 2006 on the PlayStation Portable. The player moved the creatures called LocoRoco through the game using the L and R buttons to tilt the screen, joining them together and splitting them apart again to access different areas. A mobile version of the game has also been spotted in Japan. For more info on LocoRoco, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

The game will cost £1.99 in the UK--international pricing has yet to be confirmed, but will likely be in the region of $4 for the US.
Bargain! And out a day BEFORE the Japanese release.

TGS 07: Loco Roco Cocoreccho! Hands-On Preview

I don't see how the orange levels are any more plain than the blue ice ones but crazy logic rules in the gaming press right now. Despite having the same colour scheme, there appears to be a lot of new environment 'pieces' in the trailer on the UK store.

Much more informative preview from IGN

Quote:
The game's producer, Tsutomu Kono (also the producer on the first LocoRoco) told us that the PS3 LocoRoco isn't a sequel in the series, but more of a spin-off. Also, contrary to rumor, it's not a screen saver for your PlayStation 3. It's a properly running game that you boot up from the games section of the Cross Media Bar.

You can use the game's title screen as a screensaver if you like. If you simply leaving the controller in place, the LocoRoco will begin to do all sorts of interesting things that should be fun to just watch.
Quote:
On a technical level, Sony has put the PS3 hardware to good use to deliver some big advancements, without changing the clean, colorful LocoRoco look. The game runs at 60 frames per second and at 1080p resolution. It looks sharp, close to a screen-filling flash game.

Looks like there's three minigames included too from the video footage I've been watching.

This title is now available on the US PSN for $6.99 (lucky devils in the UK pay less than we do...). Downloading now!

EDIT: Downloaded and playing. Amazingly cute. Insulin-shock-inducingly sweet. But behind all the adorable music, singing, and jiggly antics is a very solid puzzler. It's not hard to pass each level, but getting all the Loco Rocos is proving to be immensely challenging.

Is this game similar to Lemmings in a way?

I got through gate 1, but then you're supposed to get 40 for gate 2 and the max I can seem to get is 23.

I got frustrated and quit. Thank god it was only $7, but I could have put that $7 to poker instead.

Yeah, but more cutesy. You'll either hate or love the music and the little sounds the creatures make.

They are many hidden that you need to find... I think I found 29 (or was it 27?) before going through the first gate.

There's 27 Loco Rocos you can accumulate before opening the first gate (15 required).

I've opened the gate that requires 80, and am close to figuring out how to open the gate with 140, but man is it ever hard to get that many... some of the Loco Rocos are so tediously difficult to reach.
