Age notification? Asking someone to type their birthdate in is no deterrent. A six year old can bypass that security feature.

Software blockers? Doesn't he mean tracking cookies?

Now I have a question for the parents here. Specifically the parents of young girls. Who would you rather date your daughters, a kid who spends 20 hours a week playing Call Of Duty, or a kid who spends 20 hours a week watching hardcore porn.

Sounds to me like someone desperately needed to have the spot lights turned on him, so he made a statement about violence and video games, like all the cool middle-aged people do nowadays.

I think it's the same with everything: porn, video games, movies, TV-series and other forms of entertainment:
- there's good and bad in all of them
- some content is restricted to minors and it's up to the parents to keep a close eye on that.

For example, there's porn that shows two people making love and in a sense, as an adult I don't have a problem with that. But there's also porn where women are used and abused in a degrading way which also can cause certain questions to be raised, as it makes sex a cheap, meaningless thing and objectifies women.

The same goes for movies, games, etc. There are excesses and examples of bad taste (carmaggedon, for example) where one can raise an eyebrow, but I don't see why one medium has to single out another one.

+1, as far as adults are concerned. Kids shouldn't be watching porn or playing violent video games in the first place.

I agree. They are both inappropriate for most kids. Anyone that has a problem with their kids watching reproductive acts, but has no issue at all with their kids taking an active role in the imaginary chainsawing of a pixelated human being in half, seriously needs to reevatulate their value system. I'm not saying porn is better for kids.... but it's no worse IMO.

Well obviously I wasn't talking about ALL porn. But I would rather have my child inadvertently exposed to plain vanilla porn than knowingly allow them to play excessively violent and bloody games.... if I had children of course. Of course if I had a child... I would do what I could to see that they weren't exposed to EITHER. I wonder how many of the parents that screamed bloody murder about Janet's "wardrobe malfunction" have no problem whatsoever with their precious little innocent playing Gears of War? In my book... that's skewed values.
