Go To eProductWars.com to view the statistial sales tracking data of Blu-ray and HD-DVD sales from Amazon. The website is not very easy to navigate but once you dig into it there's a lot of data on the format war. Quite interesting to check out.

http://www.eproductwars.com/dvd/

The grid that comes up that shows the daily rankings of the two formats is very cool. Look at how often BD was won. If this data is accuate, BD is crushing HD-DUD almost every day. It's almost sad to look at from their side.

Enjoy!

i vistited it just moments ago. the blu ray victory is a massacre. There are barely any Hd-dud wining days for them. They must really be drinking strong liquour in the HDDud camp. They havent seen a victory day in a while. And with 300 predicted to sell thru the roof there future is dim real dim

That e-product wars site has HD-DVD turning around and winning for the past several days.

I find this entire thread pointless, and it's always been stupid to assume one title will "end the format war."

Many format-neutral buyers who might regularly buy BR choose HD-DVD on this title because of the extras, so we may be surprised by the lack of dominance of BR on this title.

Sorry u feel that way buddy. But whatever!!!! One disc can make a difference!! believe it brother. The matrix did sooooooo much for DVD. And the 300 can do the same for blu. Do your homework. This thread isnt pointless it has purpose. lol

While I agree that this title won't end the war, HD DVD hasn't turned much around except having enough decent rankings in the top 10 to have a brief stay ahead of BD.

If you look at the top 25/50/100 it's about double the BD ranking for each of those.

And through all this time HD DVD Planet Earth is ahead or tied with BD version, yet the last Nielsen had a 1.42:1 ratio for BD over HD DVD for that title. That is: You can't trust Amazon rankings as a means of determing the overall numbers.

I would have to agree with others here, I don't think 300 would have any affect on whether or not Blu-ray would be declared victorious. It's just not a format selling title, IMO.

However I feel between the two formats, the Blu-ray version will outsell the HD-DVD version.

I don't think 300 will single handedly deal the death blow to HD-DVD, but I think it will certainly help. I think it's biggest impact will be to show the studios that the same title, even at a disadvantage as far as features go, will have a stronger draw on Blu-ray than HD-DVD, which may chip away at Uni a little bit, and may further strengthen Paramount's new-found (seeming) preference for Blu-ray, and draw more attention from Weinstein's, and maybe even (albeit, it's a long shot) catch George Lucas' attention. I think it may play a key role in the cumulative advantage over HD-DVD, but I don't think it'll single handedly defeat HD-DVD.

Cool

We need an exclusive title. 300 will help in a big way, but hd-dvd will be crushed when Spidey and POTC 3 arrive exclusively.

You're missing the "not even close" option..

Not only is 300 multi-platform, but it is also far from selling Blu-ray to the top, Blu-ray won't win until Universal no longer makes a profit off of HD-DVD and decides to switch over.

if HD-DVD wasn't an effing combo I'd have gotten it. funny how something that was supposed to help the format is one it's biggest faults. woulda been cool to have the extra features though.
