All I was doing was calling Vizio for a neighbor who is legally blind and who wants a new TV. I thought the new 72 might work for him (BIG and not to much $$$). That is what I was doing. Along with what the girl at Vizio said.

Where do some of you come up with this crap? I guess you have never seen the picture quality of a 120"+ projector setup at 1080p.

I'm not a fan of Vizio but that just looks awesome! It would also look great in my basement!

I'm actually am more interested in that cinemascope (21:9) LED TV they have there. Looks like Vizio is trying to combat us CIH users . Come back to me when you got a 150 inch 2.35:1 LED TV at a reasonable price, then we'll talk .

Oh I'm sorry - I thought you were being facetious by quoting what a "marketing" person said about their own product.

They would be if you sit too close 6.5' to 7' may be great for a 52" TV but you need to step back for 72".

Now I am not a lover of Vizio by no means but this tv looks awsome. If it gets good reviews I may think about picking one up down the road. But this beast from Vizio looks as though it may be a winner. Lets just wait and see.

I don't get all the hate for Vizio. I have a 47" vizio in my living room and I use the frame interpolation fieatures and it looks awesome. Not to mention it cost less than $1,000 even after taxes. I too was skeptical on vizio until I bought this tv and was shocked just how good I think it is, especially bang for the buck!

Of course it will be better, its the same thing that happens when people compare computers while I can go spend 10k+ and get the best chip, video cards, ram, and ssd's in raid that are available the fact is most people don't need or want that.

Its the same with projectors, I could go buy a 4k sony projector for 200k or spend a modest 30k on a Macintosh one with Long-throw lens, but 99.9% of people don't need or want that. So while you could smoke every tv imaginable same way you can do with computers its not really cost effective or useful to most people.

I've never owned or bought a vizio product or plan to, but I do look forward to seeing how the LED preforms at such a big screen size, and hopefully other manufactures will follow and reduce the price at the same time. Those of you who are getting this give us some reviews and enjoy the product

im waiting because i want 3d and the widgets and the wireless hdmi that the 72inch has otherwise id have bought a tv by now

and the samsung 3d models 55inch is about the price of the 72inch 3200 for the 8000 , 6900 for the 9000 same with panasonic and sony they are outragous (for me, not new tech wise) prices sony expected to be 6-7k for 55inch bravia xbr panasonic had to half their orig price here in the states to be competitive japan is paying almost double for that plasma bb is offering in their magnolia at 2499 and thats only a 50 in plasma.

im just wondering who will be carrying this tv as its been said its not being marketed for "big box" stores its been said at the forum for av science that some small upscale retailers have been called and shot vizio down for selling these as they are snobs

i hope amazon sells them or someone i can actually have shipped and buy a warranty for reasonable like sams club or costco but im scared these will not be available there . the extra year warranty is nice thru them anyone have a hookup that has conections to vizio to get us some info out of ?
