List of Non-Region A Blu-rays that have better PQ/SQ/etc.

certain imported Blu-Rays are "better" in audio or visual quality. i'm talking about MOVIE only, not bonus content/extras/etc.

i just thought i'd start a list here to keep a track (mostly for my own self) so that i don't make the mistake of buying a crappy region A transfer... when i know there are better quality versions out there. 2bad i've made that mistake MANY a times already

i'll try to make it alphabetical

Transporter 1. Region B-locked =(. German/Japanese edition has uncut version (just 24 seconds):

THE THING
USA Blu-ray disc is single layered, audio commentary and Picture in Picture.
UK Blu-ray is dual layered, audio commentary and a TON of extras. But only the UK fat Blu-spine.:P

Guess which one I'll be buying?

The Watchmen theatrical cut distributed by Paramount overseas has a higher bitrate AVC encode.

I've also heard that the import of American Psycho has superior pic quality of the domestic release.
