use the google checkout and itll be 61.88

i had preorder in form amazon.com when it was 70, but then i saw the buy.com price drop and then with the discount i pulled the preorder from amazon and went with buy.

plus many memebrs have bought stuff from buy.com and were happy about it so go with them!
Thanx. That was easy enough. Came out to $68.70 with tax + shipping &handling. Not bad. I'll prorate that out to Spiderman I for $25.70, II for $29 and III for $14.

what did you think the prices was going to be? i'd guess that if the price was $75 or lower it would be a steal, but i can easily see retailers charging upwards or $99 for it. $44 for single bd seems a bit outrageous.

They have been playing games with the add since it came out, changing it almost daily, from blu-ray, to not mentioning bluray, price, now Hi-def version. Amazon has it's price guarentee, if it goes down, so will your presale price. I'm sure it will change again today or tomorrow.

I ordered my advanced copy yesterday and was charged $69.25. I can see everyone's amazement if they are charging more today than yesterday!

Pay attention....it was $69 yesterday from Amazon and $35 for Spiderman 3. The price sky-rocketed in one day.

I've just sent them an inquiry e-mail basically asking, WTF!

I'll report back when I hear something.

I don't think it's Sony.....I think it's Amazon and further, hopefully it's not greed on their part but just a pricing mistake.......before assigning blame let's see if we get an answer.

This is a mistake. Amazon discounts 30%. It's been set down to 10% for some whacky reason.

And this is Sony's fault?

Was this scheduled or something? A mistake happens and people bounce around the net screaming at Sony?
Yes it is Sony's fault for listing these movies with such a high MSRP. If evry they wanted to make a big splash with a titles they already made there money back on it was these. They blew it!

If the former price of 69 bucks is the mistake, and the newer price (99 or whatever it is) is the correct price .... Amazon will most likely not honor their price mistakes.

I've had this situation several times, and all they will do is send you an email stating the price was in error, refer you to their disclaimer, and tell you that if you do not approve the new price, it will be canceled.

So, although some folks here may thank their lucky stars for getting the pre-order in, in time ... it will most likely not make a difference.

I myself got in on the original price; but as I said; I am expecting such an email any day now.

I spoke to someone at Amazon a couple of minutes ago and got no answer except that the price is what it is.

Dead end.

I told her that I was going to pre-order from Buy.com because it was much cheaper there and that they might want to look into this as people were canceling their pre-orders.....she had no answer for that.

Waste of time.

Greetings,

To be honest I really don't think that the customer service rep from amazon cares if you pre-order from Buy.com.

As for people cancelling their pre-orders, why would they? I pre-ordered it a couple of days ago when the price was $68.99. The next day the price was $69.25. I just checked my pre-order and the price is still $68.99.

I have no intention of cancelling my pre-order. As someone already stated you may want to be patient and see what happens with the pricing over the next few days.

I think it is too early for an exact price and am sure amazon will lower their price and if you pre-order it at the higher price, when it ships they will adjust the price.

What are you upset about, the SRP or the price on Amazon?

A higher SRP doesn't incentivize Amazon to LOWER the discount.

Why do people think Sony controls Amazon pricing?

Directly from Amazon:

"Pre-Order Price Guarantee! Order now and if the Amazon.com price decreases between your order time and release date, you'll receive the lowest price. "

They give you the lowest price...so no worries. Yea for ordering it yesterday...

Some people have stated on AVSForum that their pre-order prices were re-adjusted to the higher price, that's why.

I am pre-ordering from Buy.com to at least hopefully "lock-in" a lower price and then can always cancel with them if Amazon comes to their senses.
