Default for your amusement, I present..... "I hurt myself"

It's no big deal though, as I didn't hurt my kid..... if I had, I would feel like complete garbage......

I took my kid to the library for a "story time" where they read, songs etc..... he's just under 2 1/2 years old..... long story short, he got into a "mood" where he wanted to play in the play area, and have me read books to him, and he skipped the story time...... we then went to their toddler-computer room and he played some "Thomas" the train game on the computer (or had me click on stuff while he pointed to things etc.... )

Anyways, short-story getting longer...... I couldn't tear him away from the computers, so he was fighting me tooth and nail when I put his jacket back on him, and as I carried him out..... just a typical 2 year old tantrum I guess.......

So I'm walking out, and I have him kinda on my hip (didn't want him to walk in the parking lot, and he's too independent to hold my hand..... he's so grown up ) and he's struggling with me..... and that's when it happened...... I slipped on the packed down "Ice/Snow" in the parking lot as I was crossing the lane where the cars drive, and my feet went right out from underneath me.......

Immediate reaction (without really thinking about it) was to swing my free arm (left) around my son so I wouldn't drop him..... it worked.... I didn't drop him..... I landed on my right side/back kinda, and immediately jumped up to make sure my kid was o.k...... he didn't hit his head..... I was VERY THANKFUL...... he gave me a strange look, and said "WHAT ARE YOU DOING JOHN???" and sure enough he was completely fine..... never cried, just a little scared..... A couple walking into the library ran over and offered to call and ambulance.... to which I laughed, and said my kid was fine..... and they went on their way.....

Well... IMMEDIATELY I noticed my right elbow hurt like crazy.... got home, and noticed it was very tender, a little bruising (not bad) and that was it.... touching it hurt though..... that's all I noticed....

Well, this morning, I can barely lift my arm over my head.... it's not my elbow... it's my SHOULDER! It's amazing the things that have become painstaking..... like brushing my teeth.... I basically leave my right arm at my side as if it were dead.

I can't help but to think of the movie "Home Alone" when he pours water on the ground, and the bad-dudes slip and fall on the ice...... I must have looked that ridiculous..... My wife is going to give me an assessment when she gets home from work, but she told me it was obvious nothing is broken, so it's not the type of thing they'll be able to do anything for......

I wish I had a heat-pad
