You had me up to the last paragraph. Cables *do* sound different; there's no debate (unless one's system is *really* low res, which I doubt anyone here's is).

Now, is the quality difference worth the price difference? Well, *that* is open for debate! It's one thing to say "I can hear a difference, but the difference isn't enough to justify me spending $xxx", but "There is no difference" is something else entirely.

The main point I was trying to get across is to be very careful of the marketing claims of companies selling ANYTHING.

I agree that there is a difference, but more weighs into masking this difference than the quality of your system, the biggest factors are the cable gauge, and the cable length.... as the cable lengths get shorter, the audible difference between two wires approaches imperceptablity.
