That's the kind of hdmi 1.4 receiver I wanna see Onkyo release. The 608 seems like downgrade (features-wise) compared to my 705.

So I'm definitely holding out for a 805/1007 equivalent hdmi 1.4 receiver from Onkyo.

Definately the price. I paid just under $600 for my 805 when they were on sale through Amazon. I think the MSRP for the 805 was around $1000 or so. Not a bad deal at all.
