TFAW isn't an accurate source for dates. As they get their info from Diamond.

And Diamond solicits movies well in advance, with the wrong dates, all the time.

2 days after my bday, this should cure my depression from getting older

saw this film earlier and absolutely LOVED it, my only complaint is the ending and to people who have seen the film you probably know what im talking about

Not sure what you mean by the ending though. I was only able to get my hands on the first three issues of the actual comic before seeing this movie so the ending certainly surprised me, but it sets up for a sequel well enough.

Loved the use of music by the way, especially the music from Sunshine and 28 Days/Weeks Later in the movie (gotta love John Murphy) and Banana Splits during Hit Girl's introduction.

The only way it comes out this early is for Lionsgate to capitalize on the hype. The film only cost 40 million to make. I think I read a report that Lionsgate paid upwards of 28 million for the rights to distribute it and market it.

If the June date is real, Lionsgate wants to see how hot this thing is before they greenlight a sequel.

i think that the release date is possible. isn't Avatar, the biggest movie of all time, coming to video 4 months after it came out in the theater?

Great movie, not sure about the release date, but still.

Anyone else think that the picture in the cinema was incredibly grimy and murky? The BD's video will not look great if it is true to the source, hopefully people will review the PQ with this in mind.

I've read other post that said the same thing regarding the picture quality. I personally didn't notice the picture being grimy or murky. I wonder how much a theaters projection system and settings effect the quality of the picture? Maybe I was so caught up in the movie I just didn't notice?

I have to say I didn't understand Cage being in this until I saw the footage. The role seems downright tailored for him, watching Cage as Big Daddy, doing his best Adam West as Batman impersonation made for some of my favorite scenes in the movie. Most often Cage seems downright out of place in his movies, but this was definitely not the case with Kick-Ass.

In regards to Mintz, this is about as far from his McLovin character as I can see him going. He's a nice addition to the cast, especially when he shares the screen with Kick-Ass's character. Chloe Moretz as Hit-Girl really stole the show though. If you take this movie for what it is, genre satire (although the fight scenes are impressive on their own) you'll definitely enjoy it.
