Any idea when and what the new Halloween (2007) will be on?

Will it at least make DVD by October 31st?

There's no way it will be out that soon.

Still no confirmation on if it's subtitled or not even though it's listed in the specs on DVDReview.com, but that's not enough for me since the author didn't mention it in the review.

Well, I watched Halloween AND Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn last night, and I can safely say that these are the absolute best transfers I have EVER seen of these films. The blacks in Halloween are luxurious, with no softening of details in the shadows, razor sharp definition (you can read street signs as though you were standing on the bloody corner), and a definite improvement in color correction over the DIVIMAX edition/debacle of a few years back. Absolutely gorgeous in every sense of the word, and the uncompressed audio is superb and immersive...

but...

Not nearly as pretty and loud as EVIL DEAD 2!!

OH MY STARS AND GARTERS!

Raimi's film, while occasionally a victim of its own budgetary restraints, looks unbelievable. My jaw hit the floor during Ash's initial possession scene (where he's flying through the trees backwards. LOL). Once again, razor sharp, heretofore unseen detail, beautiful blacks, deep reds, and vivid blues. And the sound....oh dear Lord, the sound...

Rattling floorboards, not just in the onscreen cabin - I'm talking about the ones in my house! LOL. Crisp and clear, without a hint of distortion.

I'm going to check out Dawn and Day tonight after the Red Sox inevitably lose yet another game in the standings to the hated Yankees...

I'm really happy to hear these Blu-Ray releases came out so well!

Could somebody who has these discs tell us what movies are advertised in the "Previews of coming attractions?" Any unannounced titles?

Why did they release the 2nd and not the first Evil Dead again? I think I will hold off for now it feels weird buying a sequel first. I already put in my pre-order for Halloween though.

The trailers for upcoming Blu-ray titles only show the titles we all knew about, as well as BEOWULF and GRENDEL, which I know NOTHING about! LOL

It's probably just a crappy slapdash tossed together to exploit the CG film

I think that company is still around that would copy whatever Disney was doing, in fact they did the first DTS DVD with "legend of Mulan"
