Default 100 Movies to See Before You Die: Modern Classics

Yahoo! has this list on their site. I like the list. Seen a majority but not all of them.

I thought the list was pretty good too...even though I'm not a big fan of the last 20 years of film in general...

I like Goodfellas ok, but I've always thought it was way overblown.

Maybe it was just me, but Hard Boiled got repetitive and boring pretty fast.

Man I really don't like that poster for ESotSM.

I think many of the best movies on this list are foreign... like Diving Bell/Lives of Others/4 Months just from the last couple years.

EDIT: I've seen ~64.5 or so. I couldn't last all the way through The Bourne Ultimatum.

I'm on the other side. There are only 5 on the list I haven't seen. I guess I better make sure to watch them before I die.

And to anyone wondering, the 5 I have not seen are:
Living in Oblivion
Fireworks
Yi Yi
Elephant
4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days

The foreign films and Living in Oblivion I probably just missed and never got around to. Gus Van Sant is always so hit-or-miss with me, that I never gave Elephant a chance.

I've seen these 2 of the 5 you haven't seen, and I was quite impressed to see both on the list. More impressed to see the former, feel the latter is a better film.

4 Months is an amazing piece of art, imo. The final shot of that film (shot through a glass window, which is key) just blows my mind. This film is in the highest tier of all films I've ever seen.

I have seen 65 of those at least

It was nice to see Anime and films that are not from Hollywood on there.

My favorite movie Mulholland Drive made it.

I thought it was quite a good list

Looks like I've seen 86 of them, what a great year 1994 was, and they didn't even include Clerks or Quiz Show. If I had to add one they missed it would be Ghost World, oh and The Squid and the Whale.

Leaving out Clerks is the most glaring omission I can see. A close second is American Movie. Both Clerks and American Movie MUST be seen by any serious movie buff.
