Married With Children, All in the Family, MASH, Cheers, and Seinfeld to name a few. All of those took a few years to gain an audience. They would have been canned after a season or two by today's standards.

Agreed on Bosom Buddies. Three's Company probably wouldn't last today either.

Yeah Yasmine Bleeth was my favorite from Baywatch as well. Too bad she turned into such a junkie...

Yeah WAY too many liberals to let that fail. Although if you've ever seen Tosh.0 on Comedy Central or seen any of Daniel Tosh's standup, he kind of is Archie Bunker come to life, lol.

How about The Andy Griffith Show? Now days, who wants to see a show where everybody gets along and the biggest crisis is stopping Ernest T. Bass from throwing rocks?

Benny Hill.

Today he would probably be burned at the stake, by the politically correct...

Sadly, I just think that anything that was intelligently written or original is pretty much doomed to fail nowadays. Unless it is about police forensics or lawyers, the show has a pretty good chance at failure, unless it is a "reality" show, then it's stupidity is expected. Also, as previously stated, a lot of shows that struggled wouldn't be given much of an opportunity to succeed. One of the shows that I think would really struggle is Soap. I know it only got 4 seasons and was controversial throughout it's run, but I think it would really struggle to find an audience. Also, I think that Baretta would never make it.

Any of the older shows as mentioned, Brady Bunch, MASH, etc.

As much as Full House was a really corny show and probably wouldn't last these days, there are still TONS of corny shows on now that are popular for whatever reason. Minus the little speech with the music.

X-Files likely does not make it past one season in today's network environment.

It might have a chance on pay cable, but definitely not on broadcast or basic cable.

Yep not sure if this is true but Fox was going to cancel X-Files but decided to give it another shot and renewed it for season 2. Today show's don't even get a second chance.
