My most anticipated film of the year INCEPTION

Then of course, Toy Story 3

I might check out Robin Hood if I get the time

Well it is the final movie and is being promoted that way too, so that will likely draw in audiences. And what you have to remember is that it is family film and children love Shrek, so it's unlikely to bomb, but maybe not do as well as the first two.

I just can't see Ridley Scott directing a bad film and with Crowe back in a familiar role, it should be a good one.

Prince of Persia is going to be awful. Same with Predators and the Karate Kid...

I think Prince of Persia looks awful and it doesn't seem to have much buzz. I could see it opening decent but unless the reviews are good I don't think it will have much life. I could see The Last Airbender flopping, a lot of people have given up on M. Night and it's going to get crushed by Twilight. I wouldn't be surprised if Jonah Hex flops as well. It's a little known character and it could struggle against Toy Story 3 opening weekend, plus the A Team opens the week before Hex and Grown Ups and Knight and Day opening the next week.

I actually think MacGruber could do all right. It won't be a smash but early reviews are good (although early reviews are often from critics the studios know will give good reviews) and test screenings did great. According to IMDB the budget was only $10 million and I could see the movie doing decent as counter-programing to Shrek and end up grossing in the $60-70 million range. Far from a smash, but very profitable.

To be honest, I'd rather have MacGruber than some half @$$ed MacGyver remake/re-imagining where they pull Richard Dean Anderson out of his Cryo-sleep in order to have him be the mentor of the new MacGyver {maybe an uncle or something}

The ones that I believe will disappoint (or at the very most break even) at the box-office are:
Robin Hood
Jonah Hex
The Last Airbender
MacGruber
Knight and Day
Step Up 3D

Though I do believe a lot will do very well at the BO, like Shrek 4, Despicable Me, Eclipse, Salt, Predators, Inception, Sex and the City 2, Iron Man 2 obviously, Toy Story 3, Prince of Persia, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, etc.

I think MacGruber will bomb (looks really stupid).

Robin Hood could go either way. Crowe's poor words bashing the previous Robin Hood movies might put him in a poor light (grated, the average movie goer does not care much about previous Robin Hoods, but he bashed Errol Flynn, so he won't get my $$)

You mean Kung Fu Kid? Since...you know...they're not in Japan? I hope that one bombs...and I agree with you that it probably will.

Sorry....that pisses me off

I WANT Prince of Persia to be good...but it looks horrible...

And possibly:

That's harsh. Of course more than that will make a decent ammount at the box office, cause there are more than 7 weekends over the summer

Yes, it is, but from what I see, it's mostly garbage being put out this summer. At least I'll be able to save some money at the theater this year.

And Shrek 4 isn't?

Being garbage hasn't stopped films making money before.

What a perfect example, another one is Transformers 2, I thought the film was ok and don't hate it as much as everyone elses. But the general population seem to hate it.

I think Inception will be a good movie, but will likely bomb at the box office. I still can't believe the budget for this movie is close to $200 million. What they hell were they thinking?
