Because having any film in better picture and audio quality is good and many people love "Casablanca".

Unless you haven't seen them because you don't like fantasy, you are in for a treat. I have seen the first four and love them.

Buying Warner Blu-ray is a good move guys, buy all you can get your hands on. Don't stop buying Sony, Fox, Lions Gate or Disney titles, buy more, it is the only move we can make to help with this mess.

Chris

I haven't seen the "Casablanca" DVD, but if there is a very good version and I owned it, there wouldn't be any way I would pick up the movie in HD. I do own "The Adventures of Robin Hood" on HD DVD and it is one of my favorite HD discs. Classic old films can look great in HD.

We need to support Warner.
Warner needs to support us.

It's a two way street.

And, given over 200K in sales of 300, and all the bluster about how neutrality is the way to go, you'd think Warner was safe.

But, clearly we can't trust a damn thing a studio tells us. So, we wait and see.

I was just about to post something like this. Because, Warner and New Line are sister studios and Warner started out HD DVD exclusive (before the formats launched), we definitely can't trust Warner or New Line. Therefore, we must wait and see.

I couldn't have said it better.

It's a movie. It's a keeper. And it's in hi-def.
Please identify which of the three reasons you have difficulty comprehending.

And frankly, I was originally first attracted to HD simply because Warner was the first studio smart enough to remember that people over 18-25 buy home-theater equipment too, and to put their Classic/Ultra restorations out there for the video nuts, instead of failed video-rescued 00's action titles for the dorm-room speaker-heads*--
And if you so much as ask "Why do we need 'Adventures of Robin Hood' in hi-def?", we can save time and stamp the Idiot stamp on your forehead right now.

(* - And oh, "Day After Tomorrow" and "I, Robot", that's your big announcement, Fox?--Wake me when you've got "French Connection" and "Sound of Music".)

What the BDA needs to do here is stroke Warner a little. Keep them happy. If it takes incentives then why not?.

It is Black and white... the only reason I could justify buying it is if it has Lossless.... And I have never seen it

Default yeah

we definitely need to support warner, from some posts at hidefdigest, MS is throwing the same $$$ at warner, but Warner is just sitting on the fence to see how the Paramount incident pans out before making a move.

I dont have a direct link to this rumor/info, but it cant be good...

...Uh-HAAAAHHH. O-kay.

(Let's just say, I'm in favor of Warner putting every single one of their already hi-def-mastered Ultra Resolution classics from the past four or five years on hi-def, from Gone With the Wind to Yankee Doodle Dandy, and if you've seen the "Restoration" featurette on their recent Wizard of Oz disk, you should already know why.)

All of those are purchases for me.
Holy crap a 5 disc Blade Runner edition? That must be the mother of bonus features.

I think right now we NEED to buy Paramount Blu-ray and Warner Blu-ray.
The other companies are not going to turn so easily but if we can show paramount that Blu-ray is the format of choice, I think we will be able to change their mind. And if Warner sees their Blu sales get even bigger, they may drop HD-DVD altogether!

I suggest checking out this thread I posted a few weeks ago. There is no email but some relevant contact info and some interesting comments by other members.
