I picked up the 3 pack Mission Impossible today. I picked up Gone in 60 Seconds, Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down this past Saturday. I will probably pick up some other movies this coming Saturday. I refuse to support HD DVD.

siting it out is the dumbest Idea ever lol even if by some crazy insane course of events we lost you would still have a better format disk than if it came out on dvd lol you arent gaining anything by not buying just showing a lack of support for the better format

Anything you buy will still work no matter what happens. We are not talking about Circuit City's DIVX here.

Unlike MS, Sony tends to support their formats a long time after obsolescence. For example the Betamax was available in the US well into 2002. You can get new blank tape for it at this very moment if you wanted.

Wonder what Toshiba would do?

Because they were on my list, I jumped on some Paramount titles before they disappear:

MI box set
Shooter
Sahara
Aeon Flux

Looking at my dusty stack of SACD/DVD-A discs makes me reluctant to participate in another doomed format war. Sure, they still work, but the same old small selection of titles eventually gets old. I really hope Blu-Ray can pull out of this and win it, but I'm not getting into a cash fight with Microsoft.

I ordered we were soldiers and shooter from amazon. Know I can redirect my finances to studios that REALLY support blu-ray. I know this sounds fishy, but I had "the Jack ryan collection" on pre-order at amazon, but I decided to cancel 3 days ago. I thought I would get it later, because september is going to be a big blu-ray buying month for me anyway what with stranglehold CE, underworld, a few good men, and the replacement killers.

Oh, and I ordered face-off from japan, so we'll see what happens.

I just hope Mel Gibson doesn't let Paramount put out Braveheart and equal for Ridley Scott with Gladiator, both of those on HD-DUD and I will be pissed!!

Gonna have to put Ronin and the Die Hard's on pre-order!

5 or 6 days before the announcement I purchased:

Letters From Iwo Jima
Apocalypto
A Knights Tale
The Prestige

Also, since the SKUs may very well be discontinued via the announcement I may look to pick up this weekend:
Disturbia
Sky Captain & The World Of Tomorrow
Sahara
Sleepy Hollow
Pearl Harbor (I know it's not discontinued, but I still want it)
UPDATE: I just ordered The Island from the UK!

I went out Monday night and bought The Patriot and Relentless Enemies. Woke up this morning in a bad mood and bought Kung Fu Hustle, The Terminator, Stargate and House of Flying Daggers on the way to work. With my import of Starship Troopers, Blackhawk Down and Kingdom of Heaven on order I've almost doubled my BD movies this week.
