LOL. Yeah, Bad News, George Lucas acquired the rights and is adding a deleted scene where they have a rockabilly band playing in the parking lot done in CG, colourised it, had Janet Leigh slash at Norman first so it was a justified killing, and converted it to 3D.

I forget but somewhere on this sit they made a big deal over the restoration that Universal is doing on Psycho, from what I heard there I am expecting a top notch transfer. Hopefully.

Apparently those peole are not true film buff's or fans of Hitchcock. I am surprised people would think Vince Vaughn was in the original Psycho???

Hitchcock made a conscious decision to film it in black and white, colorizing wouldnt make any sense.

You're a little more BLUNT in your assessment. I was trying to be more "polite".

Psycho is possibly my favorite film of all time, so of course my wish is that Criterion get ahold of it. Now that they aren't, I'm going to have to wish for the best and hope whatever HD transfer was made 2 years ago for the current DVD (and most likely the one they are using, although we could all be surprised if they went back again and made a new transfer) is sufficient enough. Just when things are looking pretty decent for blu-ray, along comes the Spartacus mess... then MGM's new (old?) MPEG-2 releases... You'd think by now that studios would learn, but I guess if they did, we wouldn't still be getting terrible movies, either...

This film was completely restored. Universal's recent product has been spotty, but I am not worried at all about Psycho's treatment. That is one of their gems.
