almost. HR is better then DTS (as you said) but it is also potentially lossless. So it could be as good as MA. HR like DTS is constant bit rate. That means that if it is et at 3mbps (or what ever value you want) if it can be lossless under that value then it will be (something that is not necessarily true with DTS), but if it would need, for example 3.5mbps then it would need to modify (lossy) the sound in order to fit. MA uses variable bit rate, so if there is not much happening it could be low (as low as the choice for DTS which, if they picked the best, is ~1.5mbps) but when all 7 speakers are playing complicated sounds it can go much higher.

Yeah...sounds like his whole problem was with BD-Live!...not BD50s. And he was either just confusing the two or was just completely ignorant of the matter.

I don't have a problem with any disc on my Oppo, except for the Skynet Edition of T2. That disc is whacked. It'll play and all, but it's a chore to get it to the point where it will.
