when they eventually admit it of course. it rolls downhill. it just seems to me that by now they could have made a better design something more than just newer chips and better air flow. but i guess they wouldnt want to spend the time or money since theyre still making boat loads of cash

edit: rather than going from chip to chip to chip

I'm not going slim with my PS3 because of the lack of PS2 compatibility.

I've had both. The original Xbox controller, which I shall call by its given name "The Duke," was nice to hold. It literally filled your hands. The Controller S was a better design, though. I actually would choose either of those controllers over the DualShock. Sony's controllers are too small for me. Which is why I like the 360 controller just fine.

For reference, I attached a picture of the Duke (original Xbox controller) side-by-side with the 360 controller. Duke = Best. Controller. Ever. But only because it was so h-u-g-e-!

I hope they don't. The tiny, delicate feeling controller and lack of real triggers is the big weakness of the PS3 IMO. I've also noticed my thumbs are more likely to slide off of the thumbsticks on the PS3 controller than on the 360 controller. I feel that the PS3 is the superior console, but the 360 has the superior controller. Just my $0.02. Take it for what it's worth.

= X
= Box
= 360

And again, using the PS3 marketing term 'Slim'

I have mentioned it elsewhere that there are not-Sony-named controllers for the PS3 that look like the 360 controller.

I actually have one. I like several aspects of it, but I still find it a little lacking.

Release a slim controller?? Are you kidding...the 360 controller is BY far the best controller ever made for a console...I play both systems a lot, and I've palyed every system a lot, nothing compares to the comfort and feel of the 360 controller, on top of that, the joysticks and triggers are 1000 times better than playstations...

I don't think Microsoft has ever used the word "Slim." They're calling the new 360 "Xbox 360 S." Like when they released the Controller S for the Xbox and the S stood for "small." And even still, they're not displaying the "S" anywhere except on the back of the console.

I think the only weakness on the 360 controller is the D-pad. Sony's D-pad is clearly better. And they got it right the first time. Microsoft is on their third controller design and still can't give us a worthy D-pad.

What's wrong with the 360's D-pad? I've never had an issue using any of mine?

for me theres more of an issue, granted a small one, with using the diagonal direction and a lack of response or incorrect response. i dont get that with the ps controllers.

The picture posted earlier says it all, PS3 slim is on top, if they were in prison, 360 would be the b!tch.

You have to love the Fanboys who can't hear anything bad about there console. I love my Xbox and would say the truth Like the fact that it is true that Sony has the better exclusives. There's some people I guess that can't be happy without basing other people equipment.

me personally which is my opinion only...I think the ps3 is better all around..blu-ray player and game system...i mean they got pretty much the same games...call of duty plays and looks the same on both systems to me..and playstation network to me is just as good as xbox live...i dont see big differences really? other than psn is free...i like home better than the xbox avatars...i like the ps exclusives better...ps3 has always been wireless which was a plus for me..and its always had quiet fans....I mean the stuff the xbox slim is doing now...years later...the ps3 has been doing..and plays blu-rays...AGAIN this is my opinion..if i was a hardcore gamer i would own all the systems...but if i could only have one its ps3 by a long shot.

go to the ps3 threads and see what happens. ive said good and bad about both. here seems its ok, there its not. all im saying is that the respect should go both ways regardless especially in their respective threads.

I disagree on both counts, but understand why some people view it that way. My reason for preferring the PS3 slim is because the volume that was cut down from the phat is significantly bigger than the 360 slim to 360 phat cut. I think the design for both is pretty ugly, hopefully, if my theory of a PSThree comes to fruition, it'll be the equivalent of the PSTwo which was pretty damn sweet. Controller comes down to personal choices, and I personally prefer the PS3 one.

Over there is a PS3 and Blu Ray forum, here is a general gaming forum, so it's more lenient. You can say bad stuff about PS3 games and features if it's warranted, you can't just go around trolling and stuff (I'm not accusing you of doing so btw). We still won't allow System Warz BS here though so let's keep the conversation civil.

I guess the design would depend on person because I like the slim because of the glossy finish. Wife likes the PS3 NO FINGERPRINTS!

then it clearly depends on who is moderating and thier mood. unfortunately i do not post there anymore (a promise i made). anyway, nuff said.

as with everything else, console opinions are just that, opinions. to each thier own.
