It's Universal, so I don't see why it shouldn't be region-free

So there has been plenty of talk about the extras, but what about the actual transfer of the movies? The extras are not going to be worth much of anything if the blu-ray edition is a poor transfer.

I'd love a nice collector edition of just the first film. The rest are crap comedies.

I'd hate to miss out on the packaging!

Maybe not. The Spanish edition (as announced by zonadvd) has French and Italian, but not German.

So it seems that for this release Universal has done like Fox and authored two different European releases: one for UK and Germany (and the Netherlands and the Nordic countries); and another for France, Spain and Italy.

Don't get me wrong, the Trilogy is a classic and I'm definately in on it, but for the love of God not in a Steelbook! A spiffy Digipack or CE would fit the Bill much better!!
Play have a digipack edition up for pre-order, so that's 3 different versions so far. I'm not a fan of BTTF anyway, so I'll be giving this a miss.

Wake me up when the Alien set is released.

Well we didn't get The Wizard of Oz set, all we got was a pointless sing-a-long edition, which I didn't get because that's all it was, but judging by peoples collection photos it certainly looks huge. As for your question, it's difficult to say at the moment because there is official artwork up yet and because of how much is included, then it's going to be pretty big. We'll just have to wait.

I just want the included Almanac, just to see if the producers actually took the time to put actual sports facts and statistics in it!
