I hope this will be great news for Blu-Ray and that we could make them BD exclusive if not just keep them neutral atleast.

it could be like the emporere replacing dooku with vader. yeah, both are evil, but we could be getting something a lot worse.

It could be a bad thing for the same reasons you are posting your theories; speculation...

You don't know why he left, and neither do I. I can assure you however, that I feel it is highly unlikely that a man who probably makes millions of dollars a year would walk away from a job at Warner for his firm beliefs in HD-DVD. He isn't married to the format, and I doubt it is personally worth millions of dollars of his yearly salary to him....

There could be a hundred reasons why he left, and 99.9 percent of them have nothing to do with Bluray.

The fact of the matter is, is that this position of higher authority is now open to the public and can potentially be filled with someone who is much much worse then him...

What if someone from Microsoft decided to "amicably" leave their position to spearhead this open position at Warner? They gave 150 million dollars to Paramount, who is to say they wouldn't let their Vice President of Bullshit leave to go work at Warner Home Video?

the only difference is that with old regime, we knew what we were getting. with a new regime, it's a total crapshoot.

God forgive me for what I'm about to do. . .

But Vader brought balance to the force. As I recall, he kicked the Palpatine's ass.

This could go either way if it is in fact true. We will just have to wait this out and see what happens. Hopefully it isn't going to be too bad.

well, on the brightest of bright sides usually when this happens out of the blue there is a huge reason. Perhaps he was going to be let go and was asked if he would step down? Its anyone's guess but i was really hoping for something more tangible to ease my mind for this week.
