I enjoyed it. I thought i would like the tarantino movie better, but i really liked planet terror more. It was more tounge in cheek comical stuff, and overall was very fun and enjotable to watch.

It was released by The Weinstein Company and they are currently HD DVD supporters. Anything beyond that is speculation at this point.

From what I have seen, for Standard DVD the movies is going to be split into two releases, so they can double their money. More than likely if it comes out on HD-DVD it will be the same. The movie did so poorly at the theaters, they have to recoup their money somehow.

Bill Hunt (The Digital Bits) speculated the chances of Weinstein Co. going neutral have just increased because of the Blockbuster announcement.

Blockbluster and Weinstein have an exclusive rental arrangement through the end of 2010. If Weinstein Co. wants their HD discs to be able to be available at those 1450 new Blockbuster stores getting HD discs, it would seem that they must begin to release on Blu-ray.

use http://www.thedigitalbits.com

The new server is on another IP and your ISP's name server hasn't updated to the new one yet.

Don't forget that the Weinstein movie "Hard Boiled" will also be on the PS3 version of Stranglehold, in Full HD (or so I heard).

Also, I just checked the bits, and it's working for me.

Cool

The artistic style of these movies(reproducing them to look like grindhouse films) wouldn't bode well as hd titles anyway, IMO. I'd probably be happy with the standard def dvds.

Most likely it won't be on blu-ray, unless the Blockbuster thing forces them to do it, which seems unlikely. Also, I think they are splitting the movies up for home video release, one for Planet Terror and one for Death Proof. Double up on sales. I guess it is good if you don't like one of the movies, you don't have to buy it. I haven't seen it so would probably buy both of them.

Weinstein is HD DVD exclusive, so they've got to change for it to be on blu-ray.

In the future, use the search function on the forums page before starting a new thread, as many of your questions may have already been discussed, especially big titles (Star Wars, Spiderman, LOTR, etc.)

But what about their Blockbuster exclusivity? The movies that I see "only available at Blockbuster" I can still get from Netflix. And on the Grindhouse subject, I guess it depends on who has the home video rights to the movie. Warner Bros has the rights to TMNT, but who will be releasing Grindhouse?

When the movie came out for theatrical release, Terantino and Rodriguez both said on O&A that they will be released seperately when they come out for DVD.
