I've only heard of him by watching the Soup - best show on cable. Other than making fun of him, which they do often, I don't know anything else about him, nor do I care to.

I think his claim to fame is that he made Youtube videos, got noticed and got a record deal.

Kind of the "American" dream type story.

Of course, I could be totally wrong and that is not his story, but I thought I remembered something like that about him. I saw him on Saturday Night Live a few months ago - seemed like your basic boy band kiddie music. No worse or better.

Interesting Hollywood is really desperate. Has this kid done anything yet? If I recall Eminem had won a couple artist/album of the year awards before he was given a movie deal.

This should win some 3-D fans

Quote:
Before you swear off the trend of 3D films entirely, listen to the latest pitch.

Deadline just broke some exclusive news: the fast times of Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber will be hitting the big screen in 2011, in none other than eye-popping 3D.

Only sixteen years old, Bieber has risen to fame as a pop/R&B superstar, raking in more views on Youtube than any other artist. Fresh-faced and still in the midst of puberty, Bieber will play himself in this feature-length Paramount flick that documents the story of his life.

The film, produced by Bieber's manager Scooter Braun and Island Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid, will include recorded segments from Bieber's current tour amongst other crucial Bieber moments of his short but very wealthy existence.

The director of An Inconvenient Truth, Davis Guggenheim, is in negotiations to direct this untitled project, which is set for a February 11, 2011 release.

Now, the question is, what's worse? The 3D film onslaught, or 90 minutes of Bieber-centricism? You decide.

I'd say it's 90 minutes of Bieber-centricism. I couldn't care less if it was in 3D or not, I'm still not going to watch a film about a boy who can't sing.
Have they done it in 3D so that thirteen year old girls can ogle at him even more?

Unless this kid was kidnapped by the Taliban at 8, rescued at 9 by a crack unit of soldiers of fortune, foiled a major crime syndicate by 10, solved a 30 year old murder at 11, lost his virginity at 12 to a LARGE group of college girls, all before starting his music career (never heard of him before this thread) then this film should go back on the shelf till this kid has lived a little.

That is set for the sequel. First the left one, then the right in splendid IMAX 3D.

What's even more funny is I'm only two years older than him, and I was never that... dim. I know I sound big-headed, but you can't help but laugh when someone like him bashes his head against some glass, not once, but twice.

I think the moronic part is that, in the first clip, he acts like someone hit him on the head with a crowbar, while he just walked into a plane of glass. First rule of doing something embarrassing: keep walking like nothing happened. Perhaps not quite like this:

but you get the point .

I heard that Justin Bieber cries whenever he hears about people hating on him and calling him talentless. And then he wipes his tears away with one hundred dollar bills.

lol I knew you'd catch that sooner or later.

And more news! "Oscar-winning director Davis Guggenheim ("An Inconvenient Truth") is in negotiations to direct the 3D biopic feature about rising Canadian tween singer Justin Bieber for Paramount Pictures reports Deadline.

Bieber will play himself in the film which will be mixed with performances from his current concert tour, most notably scenes from an upcoming Madison Square Garden performance. The film has already set a February 11th 2011 release date, while Scooter Braun and L.A. Reid will produce. Bieber's most famous single, 'Baby', has attracted over 270 million views on Youtube."

So from one fiction movie to the next. This guy is racking-up quite a résumé.
