Our release is exactly the same disc as it features Australian, German and UK ratings logos so it's region free too.

the reviews for this have dissapointed me quite a bit.

Ive been waiting for this to hit blu-ray for a long time, it's one of my favorites.

To hear it's just some old master they dug up somewhere , flung it on a disc with no extras makes me very sad.

Studio cashing in once again with no regard for its fanbase

It is a bit disappointing. Having said that as I mentioned in my earlier post it is finally available on BD and is far better than the extremely average DVD that was out before. When all it's shortcomings are looked at I feel that they are evened out by the low price it's available for here. I'm not sure what it costs elsewhere but it's only a few dollars more than old catalogue DVDs in Australia and that was on release. That's pretty reasonable for any BD, let alone one of such a good film.

I A-B'd it with the HD-DVD and they look identical. I didn't get a good enough listen to the DTS HD-MA track to see if it improved upon the Dolby Digital Plus track on the HD-DVD. It drops the teaser trailer, so there are literally no extras.

If you're upgrading from the DVD, it's worth it since that wasn't even anamorphic. But if you have the HD-DVD, you may as well hold out for the eventual domestic release if you live in the States.

All the Uni bare bones titles now carry that basic icon based menu, basically because there's not a whole lot to select on these discs!
