Since that's how they did it with F13. Release the first two sequels with the remake.
That is correct but that was Paramount not Newline. Newline did not release their Jason collection when the remake hit shelves so it should not be a surprise they didnt release any of the NOES sequels. And yes I agree, we will not be seeing those for a LONG while.

Default Damn, finally....

This thing took too long to even be announced. It should have come out by the third week of August if u ask me (Kick Ass August 3!).

I'm with you I don't understand why it took so long for an announcement but than again WB seems to be slow at making them. I wish they would release an unrated cut of the movie.

Maximum Manic Mode. If thats there Maximum Movie Mode I cant wait to see the director talk his way out of making this piece of garbage. I loved the original and all the sequels hell, I even found FvJ enjoyable. But this was just PURE garbage.

I will rent it first. Unless I can find it on the cheap.

Fingers crossed that Warner decides that they should release the first two sequels in October as well.

Instead just releaseing 2 & 3 they need to release a boxset of all of them.

I liked this movie thought it was a much better remake than Friday remake. I will be picking this up day one because I really liked it. Sure its not as good as the original but it was still much better than some of the sequles(why the first few are not being announce for blu-ray I dont know ) This is how I view remakes if htey are good they are good if they are bad then oh well it still dosent change the fact that there is an original and a remake dosent change the quality of the original either.

A couple thoughts from a hardcore fan:

* Why does everyone want part 2? LOL. How about 3 & 4? Or to be fair, why don't they just release 2-4? (there's no reason to exclude 4 when it's one of the best sequels).

* This is not better than the original, despite what anyone says. Even the effects that the remake tried to rehash were much better in the original without CGI.

* $36?....Um, no. This is just your average Michael Bay remake, and I personally wouldn't pay over $15 at the MOST for it.

* Yes, this is better than the Friday Remake, and The Halloween Remake IMO.

+1
That's what I started doing.
My favorite "remake" has to be The Blob. With Kevin Dillon (Drama from Entourage and Shawnee Smith for the Saw movies.)

I would love a box set but if they did skip a movie I would skip NOES 5: The Dream Child. WTF was that?

I agree. After watching them all each religiously over 6 times each in a 2 week period, I can safely say, that part 5 leaves such a pissy taste in my mouth. Part 2 has some redeeming qualities at least (it's still crap), and part 6 has some redeeming qualities (some of the kills, but it's just wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to campy for my tastes).

Part 5 though...ugh. The only thing it does to redeem itself is a couple quotes, and the motorcycle death scene. Everything else is a pure face-palm. Part 5 clearly marks the death of the ANOES franchise (death as in....completely on the downhill turn).

Nah, I like it. It's one of Michael Bay's better remakes (it's better than half of his stuff).

I probably still prefer Amityville Horror over ANOES 2010....maybe TCM 2003 as well...hmm.

However, what I don't like, is people thinking it's better than the original when it does absolutely nothing better or new, but just rehashes several of the scenes from the original while doing a worse job...(and missing the eclectic soundtrack as well). There's also other minor gripes. But yeah, it ain't a bad movie. It certainly ain't worth the list price though.

I liked it as well. Nowhere near as good as the original, but better than most of the sequels and Bay's best remake imo.

Challenge: Watch the remake and then watch part 5 of the sequels. Then look in the mirror an honestly say "part 5 was better". There's just no way. I can't even watch part 6 because part 5 was sooooooo bad. The acting was atrocious.

I don't know why people are so hard on the remake. At least it took the material seriously. This is just my lowly opinion of course, but I really enjoyed it.

Oh and btw, I actually think part 2 is an underrated sequel. Freddy was actually pretty creepy in that one.
