I would say yes. It's all a matter of opinion of course as seen by the various replies to the topic already.

For me (a Star Wars fanatic growing up) Star Wars jumped the shark with ROTJ. Lucas really muffed it by trying to cram the last 4 stories into ROTJ to cap off the story. Still a very good trilogy thanks to the first two movies (and some elements of the third). AGAIN - THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION.

Toy Story 1 and 2 have been around for a very long time and have stood the test of time. Toy Story 1 with it's sub par animation (ground breaking at the time) that hasn't held up very well IMO is a testament that it's a classic as it's still great despite it's aging. Toy Story 3, even though it's very new, was the best in the series and is the best 3rd movie of a series bar none.

Again, In my opinion anyway.

No. I love the Toy Story movies but they don't compose the greatest trilogy. That distinction belong to the original Star Wars trilogy.

Star Wars, it's not even close. And all you guys hating on ROTJ, what's up? ROTJ was a great film.

I love Toy Story and Toy Story 3 (like Toy Story 2)...but they do not form the greatest trilogy in my opinion.

That would by far be the Lord of the Rings movies for me.

I think they're good, but not the best. I'd have to put the LOTR triology and Star Wars ahead of Toy Story.

I would agree with TS being one of the best trilogies out there. Its rare when we get a trilogy that improves upon the previous film, the last film that I could think of that achieved this was the LOTR trilogy.

The Toy Story is trilogy is better then most, but still behind a few.

My top 4 would be:
Star Wars (OT)
LOTR
Bourne
Mission Impossible

Honorable mentions in no particular order:
Toy Story
Back to the Future
POTC
*Batman (If Batman 3 that Nolan is making is anywhere near the first two)
Alien/Fast and Furious/Rambo (These are More Anthologys)

Um, no matter how good Transformers 3 turns out to be, that series will never be the greatest trilogy.

You have to be kidding me. Transformers? Strip away the effects and you have one Ok movie and one god awful film. Heck, even with the effects, 2 is god awful.

I guess I don't understand why everyone bags on Jedi. Aside from the Ewoks, what is so bad about it?

What? No love for the Austin Powers trilogy?

Star Wars OT is greatest trilogy to me. LOTR is 2nd. Toy Story is nowhere close to those. I do like them though.

And Transformers 3 will be the top bun of the Transformers turd sandwich...

i can understand where your coming from but i did really enjoy the 2nd movie.. i thought the score really helped out the movie,, and im sure your biggest arguement towards teh movie would be the twin robots.. and quite frankley they really werent in the movie enough to ruin it.. I never enjoyed Star Wars so to me that cant be good trilogy and aren't their 6 star wars movies? so i guess that would be a double trilogy?, but hey everybody has their own opinions..

The twins where the worst part of the movie, everytime I cringe they are on screen. But you can't just say they were the worst offenders, you had dog humping, humping robots, high moms, robot testicles, ect. I'll still say I enjoyed the movie when watching it, but everytime I watch it, the more the movie grates on my brain. I think 3 may shock some people though

I respect everyones opinions but to say that the TS trilogy is not even close to the SW trilogy just smacks of plain ignorance.

Here is my top 5.
Toy Story
Lord of the Rings
Star Wars
The Bourne Trilogy
Back to the Future

Toy Story 3 was a slight let down, it isn't as good as Pixar recent films, and it uses too much of the story of 2, does this make me ignorant NO!, it's my opion. I'll tell you what's ignorant, telling people they are ignorant for not agreeing with you, that's what!
