Same here. I held back and, just like you, will enjoy the (hopefully) soon to be released trilogy boxset. The silver DVD Toy Box set was first rate. I'm hoping this will be equally awesome, added by 1080p resolution and, of course, Toy Story 3 itself.

I know you didn't specifically say it, but your theory about them NOT doing one seems to be wishful thinking, as in "I didn't buy the box set so if nobody else gets one I'm not missing out".

You see it all the time online. People need to justify their purchases.

That's exactly what it's going to be. Four discs. 2D Blu, 3D Blu, DVD, Digital copy. That's what I'll be picking up, even though I might never have use for the 3D Blu. I'm guessing it'll be about $15 on release day with the coupon, $25 without.

I don't understand Disney's combos why encode 2D and 3D on separate discs when you can easily extract a 2D 1080p version from the 3D version by using only the main eye stream. Seems to be using 60 gigabytes for what should need only 35. A high quality 3D/2D version on disc one with a cine-explore and a second BD-50 filled filled with extras would be a dream come true.

Come on Disney make it happen. Make it happen.

Finally, special thanks to the Bits reader who sent in this photo of a retail sign announcing Toy Story 3 DVD and Blu-ray pre-orders with an 11/2 street date...

Welcome to the site. Now get back on topic Newb!!!
On topic; I don't give to sh*ts about a 3D BD. I just want a BD/DVD/ Digital Copy combo with a slip cover that matches the other BD.

First, I don't care about 3D...

Anyways, more than likely Disney will give us another release to accompany this, and more than likely it will be Finding Nemo (which is not on my top Pixar), and more than likely will be coupons...more than likely this will be yet another 5 star release...three months is a HUGE wait!

I sincerely hope the coverart matches the style of the first two movies. I would really like the spine to match as well, in a different color (green, maybe).

I won't buy the movie unless it comes in a 3D-BD, 2D-BD, DVD, Digital Copy, VCD, HD-DVD, Laser-Disc, VHS, SVHS, Beta, Reel-to-Reel Combo Pack!

In all seriousness, I really don't care if the set includes a 3D Blu-Ray version or not, as long as I get a 2D Blu-Ray to watch. While not imperetive, I wouldn't mind the DVD copy either. I just want the packaging of it to match up with the packaging of the first 2 movies on BD.

I'll be picking this one up day one (and hopefully with a great deal with Nemo included). My bet is the deals will be better with the 4 disc combo than any other version because off the $10 coupons.

Anyone big on 3D shouldn't get excited about this title for 3D purposes. TS3 didn't have the same effect as Avatar or HTTYD in 3D. The 3D in this movie was very forgettable.
