I just checked and mine (San Jose) only show the ads for the DVD and not for blu or HD-DVD. Perhaps the B & M stores are fighting back against Paramount.

I've seen an ad for it for DVD and HD-DVD. I'm wondering what BB and CC are going to do with all of the blu-ray discs of that movie. Just ship them back to Paramount to be destroyed?

just got the paper and best buy and circuit city are advertising blades of glory on blu ray and hd. anybody know whats goin on with this? if anything they shoulda made up their mind by now right?

The TV just advertises it on DVD, not HD ore BD not sure what is going on

Haha! It's in their Sunday Paper insert! I gotta pick up a paper and take it to BB Tuesday and demand a copy.

i saw an ad on tv last nite that said on dvd and hd dvd, that was the first one i had seen up until that point they just said dvd, it's not coming to bluray guys the ads were probably printed before the deal...maybe they made a few blu rays before the deal and still plan on shipping those but i doubt it, they made it very clear in the press anouncement that the exclusivity would start w/ blades of glory. so if your lucky enough to find a stray that happened to make it onto shelfs for some reason good for you but i wouldnt plan on it.

These ads are in print 3-4 weeks in advance, so if you try to "demand" a copy on Blu-ray because the ads says it's available you're just going to look like an idiot... They can't give you what they don't have...

Yeah, I'll look like an idiot. . . Not nearly compared to the BB employee that will be scrambling to locate the SKU. You sure they can't give me what they don't have? I can ask them to eat some plastic for a day or so and maybe they can make one for me. . .

I will prbably go to both places and see.....i would assume that the BDs were printed before the announcement and some might have even been shipped. You never know and it doesnt hurt to stop by and check

The latest TV ads say "Coming to DVD", and then stick in a last-minute "Also available on HD!", with red-box picture--
I'm guessing the marketing was in transit, also that the status of advertising the HD/Blu version is still approximately where "Now on video and DVD!" was back in '99-'00.

Let's all not be immature about this folks.

The ads are (as Pegasus pointed out) printed far ahead of time, and planned even longer than that. I'm sure while shopping a good natured "too bad Paramount cancelled this" will get the point across to anyone and let them know there's lost sales. BB & CC can't do anything about it.

I was searching on the uk site sendit.com and noticed the following on Blades of Glory (Blu-ray):

Availability: PREORDER

Deleted
This item was recently deleted in the UK, but we may still be able to get stock of it.
Released: 3rd Sep 2007

So it seems that they might be selling the printed versions ?

I had a copy pre-ordered with Best Buy and I just got the email saying that I would not be getting it. This is what is said;
