Bend the disc like Beckham and bin it.

^^^^^^ wtf?? is that supposed to mean?
the other poster said the transfer is solid.
are you saying it's not? or simply making a statement about your opinion of the film?
a lot of people might be thinking of ordering this so when someone posts something like that it can be kind of disconcerting.

If you have a region free player and are a fan, it's worthing picking up. I figure at some point there will be a US release since it does star Keira Knightley, but it could be a while.
Crap, I've been on such a roll when it come to releases lately. I want this one so bad. I'll hope for a miracle that Icon's release in December isn't locked and if it is, then I'll start kicking soccer balls at Keira Knightley until she personally gets me a region A release.

I thought I had read that the US cut of the film is different from the original UK cut. (I've only seen the UK version) - is this true?

From the User Reviews section for the UK BD:
Quote:
This disc is Region B locked and is the unedited version of the movie in comparison to the U.S. DVD which cuts all instances of the word "b***h," one instance of the "s" word and a reference to drinking during the club scene. Also shortened are the rocking car with Jess's sister, the club dance scene and the final shot with the ice cream truck for some reason.

Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately, I had already seen both of those. The ebay guy doesn't ship to US and the sanity site seems pretty dodgy based on reviews, so I don't know if I want to risk it.

Did you mean to put this in the AUS thread where you started the questions?

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=159081

Sanity is a quite legit site to order from. OTOH, some backordered items are just as likely to be permanently gone
US sites like Deep Discount do carry some AUS discs, but sometimes backordered items can stay that way fro long stretches for low demand
discs and DD will cancel most backorders if they don't expect a delivery within a few weeks. Since Beckham appears to be in extremely short supply if not outright OOP I wouldn't be optimistic. Looking for a disc to pop up on Ebay is likely the best option other than getting a region free player
