Thanks for the feedback guys, let me clarify what the plan is

I'm going to assume that you guys are talking about the forum layout when you're talking about lots of empty/unused space, things being spread out, etc. So why did we decide to widen the forums? Well actually, we didn't, it sort of came along with the widening of the site in general

This wider layout using the whole width for the forum is just a starting point (a quick fix), the plan is to have the forum width be more like before but add relevant content to the side of the forum. However, these things aren't quite ready yet so in the meantime the layout went live with this wide forum layout instead to match the new site width.

Lets just say that the forum won't be this wide for very long, but we might still offer some optional wide version for those that like it. Stay tuned for more updates.

I like it, I have a widescreen monitor and it fits the screen now and the screenshots display much better as a result.

jw and I just agreed on something, the world will end today. I like it this way, doubt I will stick with whatever it is we'll get that has stuff on the sides.

ditto, I have a 22 inch widescreen monitor and it looks much better now, instead of scrunched in the middle like before.

Where do you find these settings?

I think ideally the forum index and forum thread listing pages could fit some content on the side/sides and then perhaps keep the actual threads/posts wide. How does that sound?

Sounds good to me as long as there's an option to also keep it looking like this.

I don't really like it... I quite often use my 42" LCD as a monitor, and I use the 'CNTRL +' to increase the text size, but now when I do it, I have to scroll further and further to the right...

Sounds like we may need 3 settings Marwin, if possible. One for people without LCD screens, this one and the one with the ads or whatnot on the sides.

I'm happy this wide mode isn't going to last long. Much easier and more efficient to read the more "condensed" forum mode, but look forward to what will happen though!

Don't like it just for 1 reason, I usually browse with many tabs opened and this width makes all the other pages look hyperwide with tons of wasted space. Prefered like before, or at least the option to.

Marwin,

Is what is suggested above doable?

Could there be three different options to pick from - a) old forum design, b)this one, c) ads/forum?

If this is doable, then it is probably the most pragmatic set-up to have so that everyone is happy

Well I have to agree with some of the other guys it does look sweet on my 23in wide screen monitor..the site in general looks neat and organize BUT on my 15in 4:3 laptop the the page is huge...have to move the page just to keep it center..
