The Shining.
I bought it on impulse because my DVD edition no longer worked and I was in the mood to re-watch it, but I wish I'd waited and bought it elsewhere. My copy from HMV was in horrible condition. The seal had been ripped open, the case looked terrible and for no apparent reason there were BBFC certificate stickers plastered over the existing ones. Upon trying to remove them, it only ended up ripping the cover. Being a packaging freak, I'm actually tempted to re-buy it at some point. |

^ The Shining. You could replace it with the US bd. Region friendly and a MUCH longer version of the film. Having additional footage compensates for having to rebuy it.

![]() EDIT - I haven't had an issue with the sound. Another disc I watched once then sold was 'Elephant'. It was an OK film but I wouldn't watch it again. It wouldn't have the same effect. Wasn't worth keeping. Last edited by samdaman94; 09-03-2010 at 05:38 PM. |

Babel (Horrible blind buy, bored out of my mind)
Valhalla Rising (Just not in the right mood I guess) Crank (Nice SteelBook but the movie kinda sucks) Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (God how could I have been so stupid) Gone with the Wind (I understand this is a classic and all, but feck, it just kept on going!) Home (Not even unsealed it, not really interested) In the Valley of Elah (Boring) Lesbian Vampire Killers (A few laughs, but meh) Natural Born Killers (The same feeling as when I watched Fear & Loathing) The Polar Express (Good flick but I know I won't watch it again) The Wrestler (I like it, but I don't want to see it again) |

2012 Steelbook - Ugh... Roland Emmerich's CG Porn is just unwatchable.
Bolt - Not funny, and lacking any sort of apppeal whatsover. John Travolta in this role is just wrong, plain wrong... and a little disturbing. The Corpse Bride Nowhere does it mention that this movie is a musical. I was duped! Eastern Promises UK - Pathé release has reversed left and right channels. Pulp Fiction AUS - Great Movie no doubt, but upgraded to the Polish 1080p version. Star Wars Clone Wars Season One - Just too childish, poorly written and encompasses all that is bad with the prequel trilogy. Syriana - Just a rubbish movie to me. Where the Wild Things Are - If I wanted to watch spoilt brats goofing off for two hours I'd go visit my sister. The Wrestler - Great movie, I'll just never watch it again. Nevertheless I'm keen to trade on any of these titles. ![]() Last edited by Supernaut; 09-04-2010 at 12:30 AM. |

I tend not to blind buy Blu-rays, if I'm not sure about something I generally pick up the DVD for a few quid and if I like I'll upgrade.
Only film out of the 55 I own would probably be "Dirary of the Dead". It had good extras but the film wasn't very good, and that's coming from a Romero fan. But I would get rid of it due to the good extras and as a completionist (real word?) I now have all 6 of Romero's Dead films ![]() |

I bought 'Click' as one of my first discs, to check out the format. Didn't get further than 15 minutes into it. I've heard people say it's a decent film overall, but with Sandler films I either love em or hate em... it wasn't as bad as Little Nicky, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry or You Don't Mess With The Zohan which I gave even less time to. Bizarrely enough I quite enjoyed the critically panned Grown Ups, possibly because the plot just revolved around 4 people I generally like being complete *******s to Rob Schneider

Paradise Lost: I actually do not no why I bought this, maybe because it was only £4.99.
2012: A good Blu-ray, but a poor film. The Keeper: Steven Seagal's worst, the Blu-ray quality was terrible also. Universal Soldier: Regeneration: Very poor film, although outstanding Audio Quality. Batman & Robin: I needed it to complete my Batman collection... |

Bad Day. One of the most inept films ever made. Uwe Boll looks visionary by comparison. As it was in a different ratio to the one stated on the box I got my money back, sadly the 90 minutes of my life wasted on this abomination are not refundable

Snap!
![]() I'd read many people talking about it being a nod to the old fashioned horror and what with being a SteelBook, I couldn't resist ![]() I've only watched the theatrical cut, the thought of watching the extended version makes me want to cry ![]() |
