They're complaining for a reason. Have you actually watched content on this TV before? These TV's deserve all the attention it gets. And all the arguments it draws also .

It's going to continue this way until it's surpassed. I can say the same about people like you complaining about it. Every damn forum.

Save those dimes.
Have you ever drove a Ferrari?? Yet I doubt you could deny its one of, if not the best car manufacturers of permance vehicles in the world. Point Im making is that people want what they can't have and if every plasma forum they've ever been on and reputable review hails the Kuro as the best plasma, why would people second guess it? Another example would be the countless threads about "break-Ins" and "Image Retention" that flood plasma forums from people who've never owned one. If I used your logic, "they've never owned a plasma so why should they care". Well they care because those who've owned them before have informed them of said possible issues. For the last time the point I'm making is that the Pioneer Kuro was not a practical/cost effective television for the general consumer and is the reason why nothing has matched is performance thus far. People just aren't willing to pay for quality. Many people still have a hard enough time justifying Blu-ray vs. DVD for god's sake.

P.s. I never doubted the Kuro deserved all the attention it gets.

I doubt Panasonic matches the quality of the Pioneer KUROs anytime soon. Panasonic is fighting for plasma to remain relevant in the marketplace, fighting against LCD and LED now. They have to keep pricing low to match the LCDs, as the general market does not understand the intricacies of video quality. Hence the KURO technology will likely remain left out of the Panasonics because it would drive up costs.

But then, nothing is stopping Panasonic to have a higher end Plasma series right? ...With Kuro technology.

How about....Cost?

Again, Pioneer stopped producing the Kuro because they could not remain cost competitive. Why do you automatically assume that someone else (using Kuro technology) can? It has everything to do with a viable business model, and nothing to do with what you or any other consumer wants. Obviously there are not enough videohiles out there to justify tooling-up for a new Kuro-clone. Instead, we'll see some Kuro technology incorporated into the next several generations of Pany plasmas along with their own technological advances.

And i agree with you.

All your post seemed like it was saying something entirely different. Like you were upset at all the kuro praise.

This is what im hoping. BUT....If it didn't work for pioneer panasonic wont go that direction.

Although they do have that panasonic premier $10k 65" set.

http://www.hometheatermag.com/flat-p...ma_hd_monitor/

So a high end set with 100% kuro tech is still possible.

No, I'm not upset one bit. The Kuro deserves all the praise it gets.

Arrow Kuro = Black.

Well, we all just hoping that Panasonic eventually will catch up with those gorgeous looking Blacks from the Kuros right?

That's why I said before; I just want my Panny Kuro! ...And I would pay the premium to get it.

wow this is pretty anal. to each is own for tv's i guess. i have a top of the line samsung and i love it. my calibrator came within 1/2 percent of calibrating my tv to near perfect according to ISF. for me its my pioneer kuro without spending 5K++ to get what? a little better black, a little better PQ?

well to each is own again and by the way i am not knocking pioneer, they are great and are the top plasma's. but i also didnt have to second mortgage my house to get it either.

either way i love plasma, its the way to go.

"Anal" as in 'analysis'; 'analytic'? ...Or something else?

Well, I don't think you can generalize, I certainly didn't need a second mortgage to obtain mine. Also the 50" 500m was available for under $2k not too long ago, so they were well within price range for even present plasma purchasers and possibly cheaper than your top-of-the-line Samsung.

Yeah, you're right. 20 to 40 times darker black is just a "little better".

Pissing contests usually get "started" by someone making unsubstantiated comments

Home Theater Magazine measured the MLL on the B860 at .020fl and the 9g Pioneers measure at .001fl (the 101/500M at .0005fl). Just sayin.

BTW, the VT20/25 measured at .004fl, which is equal to the 8g Pioneers.

cool man, thanks for the info. so what your saying is my sammy rocks?

like i said to each is own. if you want to nit pick at black levels, PQ and numbers all day long. at the end of the day its what you like and what you can afford. i am glad the pio owners are happy with the tv's they bought as i am happy with the one that i bought.

i had a panny 58vt25 for a few weeks and returned it. i had an accident with my sammy and got it fixed instead of keeping the vt25. it was more than half the price of the vt25 to fix the sammy .

I remember Robert & Wendy calling me & telling me they received their first shipment.I paid full price then & if panny comes out with one that surpasses the kuro,I'll pay full price again.Even people that know nothing about a close to perfect set visit & complement us about the way the picture looks. The repeated question I always get is,how can I get my set to look like that? After you tell them how much it cost then you find out if they are willing to pay for it.I always say,if your satisfied with what you have then never regret it

I read this on AVS today.

"..stripping out the cost for packaging, it actually costs Panasonic less than $400 to produce a 65S2... 65VT25 even." WOW!
