This is a cultclassic and its bloody, mostly swordfighting and it's from 1980.

Nice, just my type of movie Hopefully that's the final artwork but doubt it since the rating logos are missing.

you cant really compare this stle of movie to any jet li or IP man movies. those are more hand to hand combat movies while this is more in the lines of samurai style movies. i would say its worth a buy for you if your into old school martial arts/samurai flicks.

One guy says its the first 2 parts of the Lone wolf and cub series from the 70's and one guy says it's from the 80's....

They're both right.

"Shogun Assassin" is the first two "Lone Wolf and Cub" films ("Sword of Vengeance" and "Baby Cart at the River Styx") compiled as one. Originally they were released in 1972 but this re-edited film is from 1980

It was reedited and basically dumbed down for American and British audiences in 1980. You lose alot of the plot and the dubbing was pretty bad from what I recall.
