I was at this forum and a saw this, what would you say?
During the HD DVD wars, it was 50gig vs 30gig and a long rant on why Blu was the way to go. Now I just let the truth speak for itself. Seeing is believing. If I hear something on the lines of what you are saying, I might ask what kind of TV they have, and if they are using HDMI/DVI or at least component. There are sill people using composite video with their 16:9 TVs so their would be no improvement in the PQ that Blu has over DVD in that case. Monoprice.com to the rescue.

Ouch! So funny yet so true.

To answer the question, I would've said next to nothing. Seriously, whether one gets into the BD format or not is none of my business and I can careless if they still think dvds look better than BDs.

I would say this....

[Show spoiler]Hello, fellow Blu-ray hater. Look at your home theater set, now back to mine, now back to yours, NOW BACK TO MINE. Sadly, it isn't mine, but if you've stopped buying DVDs and switch to Blu-ray movies it could look and sound like mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You're at Best Buy, with the home theater your home theater could look and sound like. Look at your hand, back at mine, what is it? It's two Blu-ray movies of those things you love. Look again, THE BLU-RAY MOVIES ARE NOW DIAMONDS. Anything is possible when you play Blu-ray movies or games on your HDTV and not DVDs. I'm on a couch.

Agreed. I've resigned myself to the fact that some people are just indifferent to the benefits of any high-definition presentation, and thus, don't care. It's one thing to be misinformed, it's another if they don't care to begin with. Not much you can do at that point, so I just let them be.

Get your eyes and ears checked.

Seriously....no one I know says that. Passing fads don't last over 4 years. You know we've come a long way when one of my favorite childhood movies gets the bluray treatment.

I'd say, "Yeah, well, that's just like your opinion, man."

But seriously, I'd refer them to an eye doctor.

The more I think about it, one reason why people hate on blu-ray is because they can't afford it. Some people are quick to say something is worthless when their forced to settle for lesser quality products. In truth these same people really do like blu-ray and are frustrated by their limitations. So to feel better about what they have they belittle anothers superior products as, "not that much better" or "unnecessary".
