I do it all the time with my iPhone. I simply plug my phone in and open the program called Image Capture (it's a native application with OS X) and you can see all the images and videos you've taken. From there you can just drag-and-drop to your computer. Super-basic. You can do this on any computer; i.e. the phone doesn't need to be "associated" with a specific computer for it to work. It's about the same as plugging in a memory card; in fact, it's probably a tad faster and more convenient because you don't have to take out a card and put it in a reader; you just plug in the phone via USB cable.
yes you can do that, which is why i stated that is great for some user's to be able to use that function, an im hoping Microsoft does the same so it makes it easier on the end user because Active snyq, in my Opinion was kind of a pain for some user's to get used to.
an anyway i could give my flash card to another smartphone user and just copy the picture's without needing the PC at all.

since i used Windows Moble 5/6 for quite a while and many times i have done that one of the thing's i liked about smartphone's or PDA's with flash cards, yes many times the device allowed me to send data by IR but it was still slow compared to just taking out my card and just putting it in their smartphone and transfering the pictures that way.

So for me, a flash card that is not user accessible is not what i want out of my smartphone.I want one that offers that and many on the Market already do.

it just so happens that The Iphone and the Windows 7 mobile Smartphones do not.
