I think if a whole series boxset came out I would upgrage when it was at a good price. Nightmare 3 has to my fave along with the original and new nightmare. Two I love for it’s gay subtext, 4 is fun and 5 is deccent. The only really bad one in my books is 6.

As far as I know, only the original and the remake/ reimagining/ reboot/ re-whatever have been released in HD.

I'd definately buy parts 2 and 3 if they were released. 3 being (IMO) the best of the sequels.

1-5 are in HD, albeit 720p on the PS3 store. Not exactly the same as BD, but it probably means that 1080p HD masters have al;ready been done for the complete series and are just sitting waiting for a release.

3 was good, I was more partial to 4 though

Probably becasue they don't expect them to sell well at this point. BD isn't big enough yet, and the shitty remake didn't do the series any favours or win it many new fans.

I gave the existing BD a miss on account of it's cut state and some reported problems with the audio. The awful packaging and cringeworthy box synopsis didn't help either. Although I have it on DVD, I still watch my VHs on most ocassions as it's a complete version.

If they do release the others they'll have to do a much better job to get my money. no mistakes, plus ensuring that Dream Child is finally uncut again.

Some other things would help, or should be done, in my eyes:-

*Elm St 2 and 3 have had different versions, regarding audio. The original UK release of 2 had the film's score playing over the end credits. The UK cinema and VHS releases of 3 had different music playing from Kristen's radio in the two scenes when she's making the model house. I'd really like alternate audio tracks here, especially for 3. The Dokken track in the American version is terrible.
*Thhis would be a good opportunity to issue Freddy's Dead with an option to see the ending in StereoScopic 3D. The 3D has never really worked for a lot of people, me included, and this could be agood chance to finally see it in colour and get it working better

My 2 cents anyway.

All were available around Halloween on demand in HD via Time Warner.

Are all the movies on the PS3 network in 720p? Are they not 1080i/p?

Would love a box set of the original Robert Englund series. I have not purchased the blu of the original because of the sound issue and that horrible synopsis on the box.

There is enough material out there for some decent special features and it would be nice to see Freddy's Dead in the new 3-D/Blu format. Would be nice if they could put the original theatrical cut of Freddy's Dead on disc as it was shortened for all home video releases compared to the US cinema release.

As for the person asking about Halloween sequels. Echobridge in the US will be releasing Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers and Halloween H20 soon

Some of the music cues (stings) are missing. And if you read the back of the box it sounds like they're taking the piss out of the film.

Some of the stinger cues are missing. The one I remember is when Rod grabs Nancy into the bushes the morning after Tina's murder. It used to have a music cue but now it has gone. It was on the original DVD but vanished on the Inifilm re-release and the bluray.

I'm waiting for a box set as A Nightmare on Elm Street is my favourate horror film series and Freddy Krueger and Wes Craven is what got me into horror in the first place. I remember being obsessed after seeing Wes Craven's New Nightmare back in 1995.

When part 3 is going to be released? I guess I'll have to buy that as it's directed by a fellow Finn. And naturally the first one.

Renny directed Part 4 not Part 3. Chuck Russell had the honours for Part 3.

Wouldn't you think if the rest of the movies were available in HD 720p and/or 1080i a torrent would be available to download?
