Pro-B thanks for this thread. Just ordered Transiberian, Hidden, and Martyrs. I know Hidden is region free. Been wanting Hidden and Martyrs for some time. I stumbled upon Transiberian from the thead and it sounds fantastic. I have the French release of Tell No One so I should love this!

This may seem like a silly question, but how many more titles are there that are available for region B that are not available for region A? Is there a list that someone can point me to? I am trying to decide whether or not I want to purchase a region free player.

Thanks!

There are literally thousands of titles in various Region-B markets that are not available in North America.

Purchasing a region free player was without a doubt my best purchase of 2010.

Is there a thread for US titles that are region free? I've looked but can't seem to find one...

Default Exit Through The Gift Shop

I purchased this disc in December from Amazon UK and it does not appear to be region locked. It play fine in my Region A player. I checked again trying three Region A players. My disc of this title from Amazon UK is not region locked. Cover art is exactly the same as picture in the review.

What are these three Region-A players?

As someone who has just joined this site I would like to thank you too!

The information you supply on these films is valuable to me, especially as I am just starting out on Blu-ray and would like to replace many of my old favorite DVDs.

My taste runs along what is usually called "art film" so I search trying to find things to satisfy me.

For example, I would give anything to find Claire Denis' The Intruder, or maybe even Cyclo, or perhaps even Time of the Gypsies. Well, like so many others, I have many favorites that are not yet available as far as I know. Maybe some of you can help me here.

By the way, I have an Oppo 83 which I just modified to multi region and my first delightful experience was English Patient Region B from Amazon.de. So far so beautiful especially after being fooled by the Canadian so called Blu-ray.

I am presently awaiting, and awaiting, Mulholland Drive from Amazon.uk but they are a little late in getting the product to me.

At any rate, thanks again. JBrad

Welcome to the community, JBrad

There is plenty of info on the forum about the type of films you like. Just make sure to check ALL boxes in your personal preferences here:

https://www.blu-ray.com/community/settings.php

...so that you could have access to the entire database where we have product info from all over the world. Lastly, since you like Cyclo, you would probably be pleased to know that The Scent of Green Papaya was just announced:

Here are the rest of the KINO releases:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/2847070-post1.html

The Intruder is property of Tartan in the UK, so at least for now a Blu-ray release is unlikely. As far as Kusturica is concerned, Time of the Gypsies did not even get a continental English-friendly SDVD release (the French disc isn't English-friendly), so we shall have to hope for an Australian release. Perhaps this would be the year when even some of Tony Gatlif's films arrive on Blu-ray.

If you have any questions, you are always welcome to PM me.

Anyhow, again, welcome to the community

Pro-B
