I don't own any of the previous releases but I agree with what you're saying, I think I'll just wait for something better. A 4K release with top notch PQ and audio, accurate colour grading, all the previous extras and the same artwork of the Criterion blu-ray would be ideal for me.

The Network DVD had the lengthiest video extras package with a 3 and a half hour TV special from 1984.

I think they're all from the same source master, so no need to buy the bare bones SC.

I think I enjoyed the 'Trial' extra on the Network bluray more than the actual film! It has a lot of celebrity historian David Starkey in it.
