See, I like college football, but I'm not a fanatic. I won't be driving like 1500 miles for a game, not to mention flying there which would cost an arm and a leg.
I'll just catch the game on tv.
It's only 2 hours away for me.
I'm not total fanatic, but I sure love it!

The funny thing is that I've never even been to a college football game. That's kind of sad actually. I've seen college basketball and baseball live, but never football. Since, this is the last year the Canes are calling the Orange Bowl home, I better go to at least one home game. I'll try to pick a good game with a quality opponent. I wish we'd play the Sooners down in Miami.

It looks like your team and mine we'll collide on 11/10 according the schedule. Looking forward to a little revenge for last year then.
By the way, that room is not mine. It was meant to be a joke about fanaticism.

Man, that was too close -- Cal 34 - 28 Colorado State. We're up by 20 points with what, 5 minutes to go, and let them score two touchdowns? The defense needs to wake up or we're going to get slaughtered by Oregon (who's blowing out Michigan as we speak) in a few weeks....

Go Bears!!!

enjoy

Congrats! I actually just came home from a concert and to tell you the truth I totally forgot about the game being on today. It's probably a good thing because it's one of our most embarrassing losses ever. Ouch

Ouch

Go Gators, they're the next best thing to the Canes. Unfortunately the Canes suck right now.

One hell of a game indeed. That guy was about
  • 6 inches from the goal line and
  • 6 inches from the sideline when he fumbled, and the ball wasn't more than
  • 6 inches from the pylon when it went into the end zone
Talk about a game of inches.

This is the first time I've seen the "fumble through the end zone is a touchback" rule really affect the outcome of the game. I believe there was one in 1990 but I didn't see that game (Russell White of Cal was the fumbler).

Cal - Oregon produces some of the craziest games ever played. I was actually at Memorial Stadium to witness the comeback win from 30-0 down in 1993. The game in 2004, the one Cal won on essentially a missed extra point, is totally tame by this series' standards.

Go Bears!!!

P.S. No, I'm not looking forward to November 10th yet. After a home game against Oregon St. (which never seems to be easy...I still remember the quadruple overtime game in 1996), Cal needs to go visit UCLA and Arizona State which are a combined 9-1 with no losses at home....

and my seats were right next to that play. it was right in front of the cal section. talk about a whole section going into hysterics. when oregongot the ball back, the guy next to me and i did the "don't get excited yet, we're cal fans so we know anything can happen." and it did

i've seen it before but this is the first i have seen it help cal. btw, two blown calls in the game. one of them being that "missed" field goal and the second being the late hit. i'm just glad the refs got the call right at the end.

the series with oregon is fantastic and just seems to get better and better. both coaches are great (even if i have some small dislike of belotti... at least it isn't nuweasel). yes, fucla and arizona are going to be very tough and oregon st isn't a pushover anymore. but, with the way that we have been playing and tedford's outlook this year (seems to be pumping every team we play to keep our guys' focus) i think we'll def be prepared. does it seem that every team we play is trying to play the dink and dunk game? aside from stewart, i'm not sure if any other back has 100 yds on us. wasn't our run d supposed to be our weak link?

anyway, this season is shaping up to be as good or better than '04 and i'd expect memorial to be rocking like the good old days and maybe even be like sc '03 for the rest of the season...

GO BEARS!
