That's different. Before, 2K was known to use the same athlete for several years. Derek Jeter was on like every 2K baseball game. Allen Iverson and Shaq were on every basketball game

I like the addition of rain. But what I'm wondering and I may be asking for too much, but its gonna be just rain and rain delays or actual storms? Like I would love to be playing and see a dark storm rumble in the distance, sky turn black, lightening flashes in distance, thunder. And the kicker will be the flags start to go crazy and the wind pick up and trash blow across the field. And since the wind will pick up, your balls hit will react differently. I know its asking for too much but damn how realistic and awesome would that be?! Oh! And since they're adding rain, I want to see fans in ponchos and rain gear.

New mode helps disabled gamers play MLB 11 A 25-year-old St. Louis Cardinals fan with cerebral palsy has inspired a new game mode in the upcoming MLB 11: The Show. According to ESPN, Hans Smith wrote to Sony's San Diego game studio, the title's developer, a few years ago to talk about his love for baseball and the video game. The letter prompted the studio to add Smith as a playable character in MLB 10: The Show, and his continued ties with the development team spurred it to create a new game mode in its upcoming release that makes it easier for gamers with disabilities to play. ESPN said the mode is named after Smith's organization, the Association for Disabled Virtual Athletes. Rather than require gamers to press several different buttons to control players, the new mode offers single-press functionality for everything from throwing a runner out to batting. The game's AI takes care of running after the ball and other activities that might require multiple buttons. "I'm never going to throw a baseball. I'm never going to run around the bases," Smith told ESPN in an interview. "So all of the adrenaline you feel by stepping out on the field and coming up to bat with two outs in the ninth inning, that's what I feel when I play the video game. So in a sense, this game is my reality." The new game mode in MLB 11: The Show is a highly commendable addition. Baseball games have traditionally featured more sophisticated controls, requiring users to interact with several buttons at a time to perform actions. With the new mode in place, those who might otherwise have not been able to manage those controls will have the ability to enjoy the game. "This levels the playing field for people who are otherwise outside the sports arena," Smith told ESPN. Sony's MLB 11: The Show is scheduled to be released in March on the PlayStation 3. |

I've bought MLB The Show each year it has been on PS3 but this year as much as I want the game I'm going to wait to see the reviews for this years version of the game with the new analog controls. I'm also disappointed that this year SCEA did so little with regards to PS Move support for this game. I mean come on Sony this is your exclusive game and the PS Move is fairly new and if your trying to get more people to buy the PS Move they could done a whole lot more with it for this game. I mean they had plenty of time to get PS Move to work right with this game. Also Sony once again has said they have "worked" on online play to get rid of the lag issues, but yeah I'll believe it when I see it. Another complaint I have that a lot of people who love this game have also said for years is that they need to allow people to save & transfer your Road To The Show players from last years version of the game onto this years version of the game. One last thing that is making me reluctant to pre order and buy this version of the game is the price. What I mean is last year I literally saw MLB 10 The Show drop in price to the $39.99 at Best Buy and other retailers by mid summer. That's another reason why this game needs at least a $10 pre order future credit.

You do realize that you can still use the classic control setup. So if you hate the new analog setup, they wont force you to use it. |
