Well, I think all studios have duds, and if it's a film people hold in high regard they are very disappointed and upset about it.

WB has improved a lot I think, but needs to re-issue a lot of their old BDs that came with crappy lossy audio.

I would really like to hear some more opinions on the Peter Pan transfer.

OK, I just ordered it from Amazon.com, and will see for myself what the transfer is like.

Ordered it together with "A Beautiful Mind" to get $5 off.

I think I'll love this movie!!!

Went ahead and purchased the US version and sampled a good 15-20 minutes of the movie and I have to say I think the transfer is spectacular. There's no DNR to be seen. Some of the film is soft, but it looks accurate and the color saturation is fantastic. It easily blows the DVD out of the water. The visual effects were created with a watercolor-like style anyway, so that's likely what's throwing some viewers off, but this is a great transfer. Shame the extras aren't included, but I don't bother with extras anyway, so it's not a big concern.

Great movie, much better than "Hook" or the new "Pan".

Why is the German blu-ray listed as the Extended version?

Because the theatrical release was heavily cut. The BD is the same as the rest of the world.

Final Cut Entertainment in the UK will be releasing this on 18th November. As a label they don't always carry extras over so I would be surprised if this added the extras from the DVD release.

Heavily cut? Am I missing something? The censorship for the UK, and unfortunately, for all Blu-ray releases I know of, is the headbutt Hook gives to Peter in the dark castle during their fight there.

I've never heard of a true extended cut being released anywhere.

And seconds of footage certainly does not make the film "heavily" cut.

Will release what? An uncut version of PP? Link?

Yes, you are. I was talking about the theatrical release, not the DVD/BD. The theatrical release had 26 cuts (296 sec.) in order to achive an FSK 6 rating.

PG, 108 minutes (apparently). Had no idea the film was ever censored!

Meaning it's still the UK cut without the head-butt?

I just looked at all the cuts, and I never saw this movie, but I say those cut parts must be reinserted! Unless, they are all still in the US DVD and Blu-rays, just the headbutt is missing?

It’s also bizarre that the Blu-ray doesn’t include any of the DVD bonus features.

That seemed to be a common thing with early Universal catalog titles. Blu-rays like Blue Crush, Honey, and The Thing for instance were completely barebone.

Still one of the best scores. Would love this to get a 4K UHD release, it's a fantastic movie.

A 4K UHD by Universal in 2023 for the film's 20th anniversary would be amazing with new 4K restoration, DTS X tracks and to include all the special features from the 2004 DVD release. What do you think?

That would be nice especially if it's the uncut version. I follow both Jeremy and Rachel on Instagram as well as the actress who played Tiger Lily and they're always posting about this movie with behind-the-scenes photos and memories. A retrospective bringing the young cast back would be wonderful although I doubt Universal would ever pay for it.
