All of mine have been new. But that doesn't mean I would not buy a used one if I had to.

I usually buy new, but if I can get a good deal on a used blu thru Amazon or Ebay, and the listing says it's like new I will chance it, if the price is right. So far I have always gotten good ones.

I buy both new and used.

Yesterday for example I bought the Fantastic Mr Fox new and both the Alvin and the chipmunks movies used.

Mr Fox was $12.99 new
Alvin was $5.99, Alvin 2 was $7.99 so ... total $13.98

They all look new. I only buy used at Newbury Comics and they only buy back movies in perfect shape so I never have to wonder if the discs will look like roadkill.

Netflix discs often look like they were hit by a truck but my used all look new.

Except for some of Hollywood Video's used which had some marker writing. Most of that could be removed though with alcohol and a Q-tip.

I'd say probably 90% of my Blu-Rays were bought new. I usually only buy used Blu-Rays when I trade in old DVDs.

I only buy new unless it is a steelbook that is OOP that I have been looking for and it is in mint condition.

I'm so astonished to hear that people buy soley new BD's. I mean, really? For one, BD's have that lovely coating that prevents scratches and scuffs. So the risk of damage is very low. Yes, I know damage does exist, but I personally have yet to come across a damaged BD, used or otherwise. I could kind of see the reason for not buying used DVD's or other media (with PS3 games being excluded), but the new tech has pretty much surpassed all those worries. And don't even get into price. If I can get something that costs $20 new for $6.99 in the same mint condition...it's only common sense.

Everywhere I buy used BD's...they all accept returns, so no reason there...return and get another, or return and buy elsewhere for roughly the same price (IF something is wrong). Maybe people are worried about different/wrong cases? Plenty of cheap replacement sources available...no reason there.

OCD? Yeah, I guess that's a reason. But I consider myself apart of that group as well (hell, I collect slipcovers for crying out loud!), and believe me, I make sure used things are practically in new condition before making the buy. It's not like you CAN'T find a used BD that is equal to a new BD...there are plenty out there. In fact, pretty much all used BD's are equal to their new counterpart. So maybe not a reason after all...

It's no wonder Blu-ray doesn't get a bad rap. Just take a look at any major retailer. With the exception of sales (and even then, prices like $19.99 are still high), the average price for any BD is around $20-$25. I hop online, and bam, instantly save $5-$10. I'm amazed people actually buy at stores. And that's WITHOUT price matching. Of course, not everyone has access to the internet, so it's understandable, but I've just always imagined that someone down the line is losing money. At this moment in 2011, it seems BD's are definitely coming down in price. Sure, I buy new. I may absolutely need to have it right there and then (OCD), or maybe it's a limited release (OCD...again), but other than that...I see the two categories as equal. Quality...not price. I can only imagine when we hit the $15 average for new releases. Just think of the $5-$6 average for used (and a few new) releases.

Mostly used off eBay and some new. I've never had any issues with buying used BDs off eBay as they have always been in like new condition.

I actually buy many discs used. The local pawn shop to me sells every disc at $7 which for many titles is a pretty good savings. Never have had a problem with the discs and if the case is bad I just change them out. I will get them at Blockbuster every once in awhile as well as long as its not a crippled disc (no special features, lower audio, etc).

I've been buying a lot of used lately from Hastings. They seem to have a sale every weekend. This weekend it was "Buy 2 Get 2 for $2". I walked out with 4 BDs (Daywalkers, Whip It, The Crazies, and Scott Pilgrim) for $37.

I have not had the opportunity yet to buy used Blu-rays. I bought many many DVD's used. As well as PS2 , Wii games etc. Much cheaper then buying new. As much as 75%. And I have several sites where I can print lables if needed.

But I would buy used if I seen something I liked. Does not matter to me.

lol, I've made quite a bit of money off used stuff. There's a book store in town that sells used DVDs, Blus, and games and they don't know what they have. I've found plenty of OOP stuff and hard to find stuff for next to nothing and sold it for a profit. Take for example "Orca" on DVD. Found it for 2 bucks. Sold it for $25. I also snagged the 2 Disc Grindhouse releasing of Cannibal Holocaust and The Guinea Pig box set for $20 in total.

Just last week, I found A Nightmare on Elm Street blu-ray in like new condition for $5.

Then again, I could give 2 shits about idiotic things like slipcovers, as long as the stuff works without skipping, that's all that matters.

i buy a mix of both. i have saved LOADS buying used blus in mint condition (which is the only way to buy them) but i buy a good deal new as well on new release day. most of the older titles are what i buy used because you can get them way cheaper unless a store is having a sale. i wouldnt have half the blus i have if it wasnt for getting them used and saving half if not more sometimes from msrp or sales.

I try to buy new....but if the best deal is used? I won't buy used to save 2 dollars, but sometimes it can be a significant savings. I haven't found anything that makes me regret buying used yet.
