The UK steelbook is embossed. So then will the US steelbook also be embossed? Will it come with the same 32-Page concept art book and the same extras too?

The US one will come with a concept art book. If you look at the BD.com entry and see the back art, it mentions the book. As for embossing...guess it won't be known until someone has it in hand.

Cool that it will come with the concept art book. The embossing looks nice on the uk steelbook. Hopefully we'll be getting the same treatment. The back artwork looks different on the amazon listing but the back artwork shown for the US steelbook could just be the slip they usually stick onto the back, so like you said I guess we won't know until it's released. I'm glad we're getting the director's cut over here. I still have the theatrical edition sealed, but I guess it's not worth very much if I wanted to sell it.

I haven't seen the movie at all (any version), so this will be a first for me. The concept is so quirky that I can't resist and someone said that the effects and tone of the movie were kind of like "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" and I really liked that.

If you liked the look of Sky Captain you should enjoy this also. It has a somewhat similar style. The effects are actually very impressive, and the characters and dark humor make the film a lot of fun. I really hope it has English forced subs for the German spoken parts.

I just noticed that it's actually called the "Dictator's Cut"!

EDIT: Aww, for some reason the US version is called "Director's Cut, not Dictator's Cut".

I loved this movie. Just wacky enough to be really entertaining. The acting is surprisingly good in this too.

Just pre-ordered the US Steelbook that is coming out. Blind buy for me. Pics I saw of the UK look sweet. Hopefully the US is the same.

Yeah, "Iron Sky" is like "Sky Captain" if "Sky Captain" was a really terrible movie that thought it was funny when it actually wasn't.

"Iron Sky" was one of the worst blind buys I've ever made.

I was expecting a surprisingly funny comedy with terrible special effects and ended up with a terrible comedy with surprisingly good special effects.

Comedy is subjective. What one person finds funny another will find bland. That's the nature of comedy. Iron Sky's humor has a dark tone - it isn't simple one-liners. Much of the humor is in the situations the characters find themselves in.

I thought some of it was hilarious, like the meeting at the end of the film with the UN.

I'm not surprised unfortunately. Somehow I just knew this wouldn't be embossed. Do we at least get the booklet inside like it says?
