From Fox's official Blu-ray site: http://foxbd.com/pressrelease-29titles.htm
The titles were never officially given dates or UPC codes to retailers. There's a difference between a press release and an official retailer release. Fox has not given retailers or distributors any information on either title.

Remember the Foxbd.com site also said that Live Free or Die Hard was going to be Unrated as well. So the site isn't perfect.

I have heard from Lee Stewart that Fox will be pulling all thier titles and Transformers will be released on an HD51 disc.

As far as I'm concerned, announcing it in an official press release distributed to the world at large is exactly what it sounds like: an official announcement. If they're going to say they will release it on 11/6, and then don't, and especially if they do it in an underhanded fashion (i.e. never giving it to distros/retailers), that's pretty f*cked up.

As a Blu-ray fanboy, I put up with, even defended, the same tactics after CES. Fox has since used up that goodwill, and at this point I would not put it past Fox to pull any of these titles (as well as any future titles) in the next two weeks if there's even a whiff of BD+ being irrevocably compromised.

I'm not defending Fox, they've done alot of underhanded things this year concerning Blu-Ray. I'm just saying they never gave retailers the information so they can officially say they never announced the titles even though they had the press say they were coming out, so they can spin it as a press mess up and not their own. Fox is very good at spinning things whatever way they want.

I have heard nothing of the sort and highly doubt they will be pushing back all of their titles when this holiday season is the only way they will be able to cash in on the holiday rush.

I'm sorry but that is highly unlikely.

I think a lot of people missed that announcement. They were to distracted by Disney and Sony dropping support for Blu-Ray and switching to HD-DVD after hearing the news of the TL-51...

Sorry to go onto a little tangent....but I'm a huge Christian Bale fan and I see that Harsh Times is only on HD-DVD. I was wondering if anyone knows if this movie is coming out to Blu-ray. It is produced by MGM so I figured it would be out on Blu-ray, sad to see it is not.

This is clearly nothing to do with Fox pulling titles but is the result of demonic spirits possessing replication plants.

Who ya gonna call?

If it's MGM, it will never be on HDDVD in the U.S.

Check who is actually the distributor or whatever. Can't be MGM in this case.

MGM was only the theatrical distribution company for Harsh Times. It was produced independently and then they paid MGM to distribute it in theaters, much like The Weinstein Company pays MGM to distribute their films in theaters. It's one of the only things MGM has really done since the Sony/Comcast takeover. The home video rights for Harsh Times is controlled by The Weinstein Company in the US so it will only be available on HD-DVD in the states, it's possible a Blu-Ray supporting studios as the rights overseas you can check imdb.com to see who has the international rights.

Speaking of which, where the Hell is Ghostbusters?!?! Isn't that Columbia which is now owned by Sony?
