I'm hoping we can get an MLB 11 League going. Something other than Football.

I might run it. I am just getting into the game. But I will not run a league with more than 10 people for baseball.

Is it a problem when there's more than 10 owners in a League? I don't know so that's why I'm asking. I'll put your name down as a recommendation since you have experience running a Baseball League last year.

So if you really are dedicated and say you want to be in the league and say that you can play your games by the deadline each week, then why dont we have a rule. Something like this should get only truly dedicated people to play.

Yeah, baseball has more games. If we did 3 game series with 15 teams you are at 45 games for a season and interest starts to wane. I think 10 is probably clutch number for baseball maybe 15 but more than that draws it out and cause stagnation.

We cannot start the league for at least 2 weeks after the release of the game because of how sony sets up their league structure.

Good call. How long does an online game lasts for? I guess you set how many innings you want.

9 innings and can last anywhere from 20 minutes to 45 minutes. 20 being really fast but usually about 35 or so.

YOu play 9 innings. Sometimes you can set in league settings, I cannot remember from last year.

Whatever works for you. Just make sure guys have rules set in place so there's no confusion or bickering, but I'm sure all of you seem to get along.

I don't know much of the game and baseball in general so you're on your own with the rest of the guys.

One thing though is I can help you update or edit the thread if need to be. Let's get a baseball league going!

I know I've mentioned some kind of tournament based League. I'm thinking of just running a NON-SIM tournament Prize League for 2012.

Here's my proposal...

• I would have maybe the first 16 members to donate and join by a certain date. Donations will be the same amount for everyone since you can choose any team.
  
• I create some kind of tournament ranking bracket from #1 - #16.
  
• We play our games via Lobby. The winner of their game must e-mail me the game results to show proof they won.
  
• Everyone will use updated rosters (when applicable), and any team they want.
  
• Winner gets majority of the Prize Money.
  
• Once the tournament is over, we start again, and for those that waited to play will enter the next tournament.

I think this will be different, and most importantly faster than playing a standard League Franchise. That way we can have maybe several tournaments, and I don't have to worry about updating stats. The only statistics that will be used is Owner rankings, and records. That's it. It will be easier on me. Thoughts please?

It is since Pill, and Don run SIM Leagues. We can change it up to a tournament based type which could be exciting.

EDIT: And to add another thing. Since there was so many problems with the Franchise servers during the release of 2011. If I was going to continue to run a standard NON-SIM League. I would delay the start of Season 1 just so EA can sort out the bugs with their updates, and we can get the most current rosters as well. I was thinking pushing it back in October. I've should of done that for 2011.

Sounds like a cool idea to me. You might not have to delay the league, because if I remember correctly for LOBBY games there werent many connection problems it was the franchise servers.

This type of tourney could work at any time. The season is so long and waiting for weekly games can get boring. I would say try a couple of these tourneys now to keep interest sparked for Madden 11. I would surely be interested. I have ideas and would be willing to share and help maintain a league also if there is a need.

Exactly, it was the Franchise servers that had the problems. Depending what new or added cool features on the Franchise servers for 2012 will determine if I should continue to run a Season of Madden.

No, I don't plan to run a tournament for 2011 at this time since I'm committed to keeping the NON-SIM League up to date. Adding a tournament now will be a lot of work since I have to keep track of the funds in my PayPal account and I have to watch 2 different threads.

Remember if we do a 16 Owner Tournament. There's only 4 rounds. If we keep it 1 game a Round, the Tournament would be done exactly a month, then we start a new tournament.

My only fear is that the same peson(s) will keep winning. I would have to think about filling in the brackets weather it's by Ranking each owner, or drawing random owners from a hat to determine rankings for the 1st Tournament.

I have a good layout on the Tournament mode. Since it will be based on individuals instead of a specific team. I will probably do a "Point" system to determine actual overall Owner Rankings, and records.

The one thing I'm afraid of as well as how many owners will continue to play tournament after tournament. I should have a backup plan.
